A fine afternoon in Saint Petersburg, with a comfortable 21 degrees (max) forecast.

Finland and Denmark served up a boring game (arguably the worst yet) with Finland having just one attempt on goal... which they scored from to gain the 3 points. Russia, however, managed 5 attempts (1 on target) against Belgium, but in the end were comfortably beaten 3-0. Nevertheless Russia at least made a game of it and I expect more of the same today.
Finland have no injury concerns whilst Russia have two... Kuzyayev and Zhirkov, who will not play.

 - 2-0 up in 16 minutes I stuck a small mug bet on over 8.5 goals in the Kashima game and then went back out in the garden and forgot about it. Score now 8-1! Now that has covered my losses on Spain! |

Having watched every minute of every game so far ,Today I fully expect to see a much better Turkey performance and think they will beat Wales tonight .They were totally outclassed by the best team I have seen up to now Italy .No longer a team that parks the bus when leading ,The positive approach to score more is something I have never seen in an Italian team in years .

The one team I really feel sorry for is Sweden ,absolutly (wrong spelling)out on their feet against Spain and now having to travel to St Petersborg for the next game ,while Spain stay where they are for their next match . |

I'm not that far ahead of the game, but that is tough on them I agree. A few teams favoured in this comp for sure

I think Modric was wrong to complain about England's advantage. I wouldn't want the opposition thinking I'm concerned about it before a match.

this had the potential to be pretty dire but reasonable temp so hopefully should have some tempo, Finland looked very well organised against Denmark but lacking in any quality, Russia at least have Golovin to excite

Understandably we did not see much from Russia against Belgium ,and with what happened in the Finnish game against Denmark with the Danes saying they were pressured to continue the game this game is harder to weigh up .However on overall profile I would say Russia are the bet here .

just felt with the amount of possession Denmark had against them they kept decent chances to a relative minimum with good defensive shape Giuseppe, though rode their luck as well undoubtedly

Finland only need a draw to go through , i know Denmark missed a pen , but they are a better side imo than Russia , its hot , so cant see this as an end to end game , boring low scoring game imo .....now watch the goals pour in

after the game resumed, Denmark missed a penalty and had at least one other bad miss if I recall correctly, and Finland's goal was a terrible blinder by schmeichel Denmark no world beaters either by the way |
