How are idiots like rommel still aloud to post on an adult chat room. He came across as almost childlike in some of his remarks? No doubt he still does.

Why not actually allow the tens of thousands that have joined the site since 2012 to post on the forum if they have placed bets here?
Instead of the labryinth of email requests and loops that is currently required to activate a forum name, that only about 40 people have completed in the last 9 years |
|
By:
Can you imagine the tens of thousands on here and the moderation that would be needed? One of my questions would be on the football list of matches , why not have the nationality/division of the matches next to the game in the " top competitions" section based on view by time of kickoff. I'm aware all the countries and divisions have their sections on the list but lets say logging in on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm looking at the long list of matches based on kick off time, even after 15 years on here I have to research some of the clubs to find what league they are in when in more obscure divisions. It would be fairly simple to set up with initials for the nation and division next to each match when so much other info is incorporated. An eg would be tonight at midnight Novorizontino vs Ituano.. clearly south American but a simple Br PA1 would tell viewers it was the paulista Serie A1 in Brazil without having to click on the match and go back to the list again to find out. It may only be a few seconds but for each game clicking on it to find the division can be tedious

there wouldn't be that many on here, years ago when ever someone was banned, they could just make a new account straight away, that's why the new regulations were put in place, because paulol/paulme, was literally, and I mean literally, was being banned 20 times a day and coming back 20 times a day, but the dozy fella was choosing very similar names every time, so before the regulations to post came into force, at most, peak hour Saturday, there was probably max 500, every since then the forum went down hill sharply with all the characters no longer able to post without being banned and coming back again, excluding paulol who was a sandwich short of a panic/spammer who ask the same question over and over and over again, then when told about it, would get angry
. the special one and his 20 laptops needs to make a come back imo, heady days. |

In 2012 there were a lot more than 500 regulars here. At any given time when a game was on perhaps 500, but there were thousands that would post regularly.
And typically at least 30% of those were people who had joined in the previous year, as the first year is gonna be when people are most enthused about it, and maybe the only year they will bother. I'm not saying tens of thousands would join the forum, just that likely that many have joined the site and perhaps 1,000 would participate here of all thet had to do was choose a username, and that would be the salvation of this place, and end the tumbleweed era. |
|
By:
I don't mean regulars, just an average amount of people on a Saturday afternoon, when I first joined, there was never 1000's viewing the forum, was 500 roughly and for super big game maybe just over 600, never saw any thread before with more than 150 odd people viewing it, apart from that thread with the suicide tweet, there could have been thousands of different posters but not all on the forum at the same time?
|
|
By:
Yes, 500 odd probably typical number viewing back then.I saw it hit 1000 once, at the end of the Barca v Chelsea game in 2012.
500 when a game is on is quite enough for a busy forum. I did some research recently and found the forum peaked in April 2010 in terms of how busy it was. I remember how unpopular the May 2010 upgrade was, but had assumed most people just carried on, but actually there was a big crash in the 2nd half of that year, about 40% drop. Then a steady decline for the next 2 years, but still busy enough. Relentless decline from August 2012. The upgrade really killed the forum. Apart from losing many users at the time it opened the loophole for all those Bob accounts which they could only close by banning any new members. If people got banned pre 2010 it was hard work to get back on. |
|
By:
oh year, it was bobvegas's etc, paulol must have been someone else
|
|
By:
He was originally paulol. Bob Vegas was a name he lasted a couple of months on so probably how people remember him.

that's right, was a long time ago now.

"a simple Br PA1 would tell viewers it was the paulista Serie A1 in Brazil without having to click on the match and go back to the list again to find out"
if on a pc, right click and open in new tab might be easier, don't have to reload the list |

the biggest issue is the "my markets" surely
if the market doesn't have an outright (say, the Paraguayan league) it will disappear every few days and has to be added again you can't have Chilean primera division as a my market, and just leave it there, you have to keep re adding it |
|

questions would be
Why are scores not upto date half the time Why can you cover loads more games on SB that arent on the exchange!!!! surely can use the same feed so should be the same games not reduced by about 30% on the exchange comapred to SB games. Live chat would be good persn to person instead of having to PM S many questions and failures with the exchange nw i could be here all night YES, i too was one of those that came in here to see 1k+ in here chating, now lucky to see 100 |

It [would] be nice to have a Chit-Chat forum on here but , as with the hoards of would-be complaints, there are just too many nutters.
Maybe we could have a serious CC forum, for topics of the day, and one for the sillies. Might that be possible? ![]() |

I'd like to know why tv racing
doesn't mention betfair exchange more. Surely all the bookies odds they promote amounts to free advertising, and there was a time they used to mention in play prices. I know its not flutter that produces the program, but surely the pundits on there are not stupid enough to take bookies prices. (?) Flutter could easily offer to pay the charity bet to exchange prices, highlighting how much extra can be won for same steak by punting on the exchange. Should help boost turnover, and increase custom, replacing lost punters. There are loads of TV channels with next to nowt on. Why dont flutter sponsor, or indeed commission a sports betting show on one of the channels, highlighting the week ahead? |
|
By:
Why is every aspect of the Exchange worse than it was X years ago (liquidity // site (in)stability // communication about site issues // regular very basic "service" mistakes - eg failing to turn markets in-play, settling results before the winners are known // customer service agents who have not got the first idea about anything), and seemingly getting worse still all the time?

GTFI - If you do this seriously, there is no viable alternative. They know it and treat us with contempt as a result.

Restrictions are now the biggest single issue now facing any punter having an even an ounce of ability in any of the markets offered by the betting industry.

Hasn't that been the case for more than a decade? |

why can't they get the forum clock right ?

Anyone had the Betfair survey? I received an email this morning, but it was just a series of multiple choice question and nothing which we could really give feedback on, like the state of the exchange for example. Same old...

Another issue is the time it takes them to upload the match information on the green bar timeline of matches.. I realise VAR has caused havoc with it being immediate but unless you're watching a game, the number of times you see matches which one side is clearly leading or one is down to ten men that doesnt show up ( sometimes for at least 10 mins ) is ridiculous. Maybe if they focused more on that and less on irrelevant stats that are often in matches stating one player passes to another, intercepted by another etc which is as much use as a chocolate teapot. The most important info regarding inplay betting is the current score not updating the shots on targets etc

Looking forward to you guys posting the outcome of this.
