I reckon it'll be a decent team to try and secure third spot

Gunna rest a few with Saturday in mind Aspro surely? Not bargelike yet but they are on the drift....a difficult balancing act for Herr Tuthel.
Willian may have bagged himself a start after his goal on Sunday so thats one player he can forget about ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
He'll rest a few but the players coming in will be fresh and will want to get a run in the finals so it might actually make them just as strong if not stronger than playing full strength after two big games on Weds/Sat

Fair point lurka. I don't think he'll throw the game away though. One or two absent perhaps.

Second place is not out of the question

Good point Lurka. I imagine he'll swap his keeper , give Gilmour another run out, start with Zouma and maybe Giroud

Second place is not important!
Champions League football is. A win against Arsenal will almost certainly secure it or take them close. Losing tonight or even a draw will put them under unnecessary pressure. A win tonight with his best team gives them confidence and the players are on a roll. They can rest players after the Cup Final. Anything else would be madness. I would though love Arsenal to do what they do best confound us. Show us they are not completely useless! I fear that might be too much to ask even against Chelsea seconds as we have Chelsea thirds in our team! Willian looked good with Sake overlapping. I had never seen him pass the ball forward before the last game! |

Chelsea's defence is playing very well as a unit atm. Arsenal seem to struggle to create chances with the first choice eleven. Really does depend on who Tuchel & Arteta choose to play. Draw good enough for Chelsea?

The FA cup in reality means very little, it is these days a nice to win bauble, to add a bit of gloss onto a successful season.
Tuchel is a good and perceptive manager, clearly understanding that qualifying for next seasons CL is far more important. He may make changes, but I really can't forsee wholesale changes and playing the stiffs as United did last nite. |
|
By:
Yeah, the FA Cup is just a novelty these days and Tuchel will play a strong team. A confident Chelsea side should easily maulicate this Arsenal rabble.

The Arse have been so poor this season - even worse than us and that is saying someting - that this is the kind of game they somehow spring a surprise.
FWIW, I laid Chelsea earlier at 1.72 for a few pennies and will let it ride at this stage. |

Just when you think Tuchel is the messiah he goes and has an absolute skinter like being thrashed at home to WBA and losing to Arse.
