Arsenal vs Tottenham North London Derby 16:30 today

As much as I would like to see Spurs smash Arsenal today, I wouldn't be so keen on having a punt on it. Spurs may be on a run but who have we beat? Wolfsberger, Burnley, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Zagreb... all games that one would expect Spurs to win.

Prior to that you have to go back to West Brom for our next win... another team Spurs would be expected to beat and prior to that it was Sheff Utd.

In between we've fallen to West Ham, Chelsea, Man City, Brighton & Liverpool.

Something to get your head around before you part with your cash.

I generally dread these games against Arsenal but today not so much. Last few weeks, yes admittedly against teams we should beat, we've conceded fewer goals. After the Everton cup match and the defeat at West Ham you could see how angry Jose was. I think he's frightened his defence into better performances. Right now, seems to me THFC are the better side. Funny how the price went out overnight, though. 15/8 yesterday, 9/5 this morning. Good luck if you get involved

Let's see if the 'genius' Arteta learned from last time not to play into José's hands by leaving his team wide open to the counter-attack. Mourinho has been playing counter-attack against Arsenal for 15 years. Only a complete idiot would fall for it again.

Sanchez has been a perm fixture at the back in the last few weeks and he and toby have played regularly. They've pressed as a unit as well. Hopefully he will keep the defence a d middle playing together now. You can see an identity all of sudden with spurs and the front 3 are up there with the best in Europe

Arsenal have been playing better than their results might suggest. They dominated Wolves and should have been 3 up before the unfortunate Louis sending-off/pen. Burnley the same until the unfortunate pass across goal and they hit woodwork twice. Tottenham have been playing better recently but take the point they have been beating teams they should beat.

I suspect only one winner tactically Arteta vs .Mourinho. Still confident laying Arsenal the way to go.

I don't think Arsenal are that great at all (not that Spurs are to be fair) but Spurs improving a bit and strong upfront.  Laying Arsenal I think the way forward.

Makes no sense to me. Why do Spurs not play to their strengths i.e. as an attacking force. On paper the Spurs midfield looks good and yet doing nothing. Only a matter of time until Arsenal score unless Spurs start playing; they deserve nothing on effort so far.

I've just watched the first half and I don't think the great Harry Kane touched the ball three times?  Must be so frustrating for him, yes he scores goals but other than that has done absolutely nothing in this game.  You must get kicks of the ball and do something surely?

Relatively comfortable in the end for Arsenal, though they played their worst football when Spurs were down to 10, inviting them on.

I backed over 4.5 cards and it's showing as a loser. Before I make a clown of myself and contact Betfair, have I got a case? Yellows for Reguilon, Sanchez, Xhaka and then a yellow and red for Lamela is two cards according to the bet rules. Am I totally missing something?

Tottenham lost today, because they turned up half hearted for a local derby.

In derby the attitude of the manager is displayed by his players, spurs showed a distain for this fixture as just another game, arteta dropped his captain for moaning about his team selection and his team was fired up!!

Mourinho should be embarrassed by that performance, his players played at less then 50% in effort

Mourinho should be critical of his defender not the referee for that penalty as if he is thick enough to go diving in making contact with the Arsenal player and nothing on the ball its a nailed on pen and if the roles were reversed Mourinho would be screaming for a penalty

I'd be raging this morning if I were a Spurs fan. I think the writing is on the wall for Mourinho although it may take time to finally get rid because of the length of his contract and the size of the payoff.

Seems pretty clear to me that the players do not want to play his brand of football and will not work for him when he asks them to. It was the same at Man U towards the end. Players have grown up playing attacking football and trying to score goals. This brand of football is foreign to modern day players. Bale just didn't track back once and left Doherty (who is a poor defender and should never play as FB in a back 4) with 2 on 1 almost the whole game. No idea why Mourinho bought Doherty if he didn't want to play him as an attacking wing-back. He is an attacking player and a useful one if used right but an awful defender as much a liability as Aurier if not more.

You could understand it if he had a strong defence and weaker attack but the opposite was the case at Man U and Spurs. When he came to Spurs he said he'd change his tactics and looked at the game differently but look like it was all lies. He's been paid over £50m in payoffs in his careeer to date, you'd have to wonder if he sees it as easier money at this stage.

I totally agree with you on being a useless defender, but I totally disagree that he's a "useful" attacking player, because he simply isn't; he really is useless in both departments. He brings nothing to the team at all and I really cannot figure out why he even plays in front of Tanganga, let alone Aurier, who (imo) is far more dangerous on the attack.

The #3 at THFC, Reguilon, seems to be a bit of a ball-watcher.

The situation at Tottenham is strange when you cast your mind back to that great performance in smashing united 6-1 on there own turf.
