I doubt I'll be touching the Fulham/Villa game until I have a read on it. The Liverpool game might be a little tempting though. Let's see what the team news brings.

Just popped out down to the shops, so had a quick flick through the post. For Liverpool v Arsenal they are predicting goals (never!) suggesting > 3.5. The post cite that in the last 11 leagues games between the sides, 54 goals have been scored. Impressive stats indeed, not with standing the goals scored this season.
Given how the Arsenal have tightened up under Arteta, I am wondering if it is still so obvious? |

Arsenal have shown recently that they are closing the gap on Liverpool, at least a bit. In the last 3 meetings, including the League Cup and the Community Shield, Arsenal have actually outscored Liverpool (8-7), but one of those games was a League Cup 2nd string match, plus a Community Shield where motivation could be questioned. In PL matches at Anfield, Liverpool have won the last four (15-3 on aggregate), but we don't have to go back that far to see Arsenal getting the upper hand in this fixture (between 2009 and 2012 Arsenal were the dominant party). Arsenal have only failed to score at Anfield 3 times in the last 24 games there in all competitions. The Community Shield (1-1 at FT) is the best bit of form we have, which Arsenal won on penalties. However, Liverpool had the lion's share of ball, efforts on target and also big chances in that game. Tonight we will see an Arsenal playing with a lot more pride, they won't get spanked, but at the same time it will be very hard to stop a Liverpool attack which should only be improved now with the addition of Thiago Alcantara. Arsenal will likely cede possession to Liverpool and try to hit them on the counter-attack, as attacking a Liverpool team with such a pacey strike-force would be a disaster. Alisson could miss the game and if Adrian comes in, in his stead, then that would only strengthen Arsenal's chances of scoring, but it may be too little to stop the champions winning on their home patch. - ESPN.com
