Liverpool bottled it Vs City last season in my opinion, similar position this season and expecting the same result

Liverpool are better just going for it again here, they didn't last season and ended up losing 2-1 despite City being there for the taking

City back for me also

Could be a tight tense affair with Liverpool just edging it four one or four nil

Unless it's a landslide, I can't see anyone being shocked, whatever the outcome. No bet for me, but if pushed I'd side with Liverpool at home.

Liverpool sat back in January and invited City on to them. But that was away from home.

They are doing better in the league this year but I don't think they are playing nearly as well and their defence doesn't look as solid to me, especially with that mug Lovren in there. Since Klopp signed Van Dijk and Alisson he has tended to rely on his defence more in big games, rather than pressing teams and getting in their faces. He approached the January game as one he didn't need to win and sat back and invited City onto them.

He should be going for the throat and getting in their faces at home but I think he will play cautious and it will be tight, more concerned with not losing than winning as City need the win more. If he does that and manages to nick a win then fair play to him but I think he should be pressing City's defenders on the ball like when they beat them at home in the CL and that 4-3 game a couple of years ago.

what a game, best 2 teams in the world right now, busy schedules means we dont always see it but both played within themselves in CL this week and so hopefully they will fire on sunday.

i think there is still little between the two but city are more vulnerable defensively and pool front 3 can get at them so with home advantage draw no bet liverpool at ~2.02 for me, may play one of the goal lines at some point in-play. How much respect will they show each other early in the game? its difficult to say

if liverpool win its their title, 9 points clear and city have had the easier fixtures so far,  its liverpools time they have to be ruthless and take it

I think you guys were watching a different game at City last season tbh!!!

It was an even game with Liverpool throwing plenty forward and at the time of the equaliser it looked like if one team went on to win it, it would probably be Liverpool.

Liverpool could have sat back and tried to preserve a point but when pushing for a 2nd committing men forward they were caught with a typical City sucker punch on the break and an excellent ruthless counter attack.

The home game was turgid but the game at City being described is certainly not the one I watched.

'Bottling it' and 'sitting back' is actually laughable commenting on that game.

Too tough to call a winner. Don't know if Clownio Bravo being in goal for City will do them any favours.

BTTS looks nailed on.

I loved Guardiola's comments on Bravo this week too, saying they had complete faith in him. That must be why they paid all the money they did for Ederson a season after buying Bravo.

2 things, day extra rest and no journey favour lpool, but this for me is their year and I don't think they will lose, can see a lpool win, 2-0 or 3-0

the city central defence is a mess & goalkeeping issues on top perhaps, I can't see this being anything other than a chance for lpool to stick the knife in

you are right but what i meant by sitting back was reverting into a defensive shape and playing more on the counter rather than aggressively pressing City's defenders on the ball. That was less likely to happen away from home where City needed the win admittedly but they only time they really pressed City's defenders in that game was when they turned their backs towards goal either to play it back to the keeper or chasing down a ball played in behind them. Once City's defenders brought the ball forward, Liverpool's forwards pulled back into a more defensive shape and looked to hit on the counter at pace.

I would love to see Klopp aggressively press them high up and not let them play it out, seeing as they are at home this time. They really made them look like mugs twice at Anfield when they did that a couple of years ago and all of their defenders have a mistake in them when pressured like that. I doubt he will tho but if Lovren and Bravo start I think it's more likely he will.

City have to go for the win.

The City scouts will have analyzed Liverpool to death.

If City do beat them then expect others to.

Have had small bets on Lovren and Firmino to score from headers. They're not the tallest and weak at centre back. Given our use of the full backs as playmakers and dead ball strength I could see this being a real target for us.

You won't get better odds on Liverpool at home this season and they're not even favourites (on here). I'll have some of that too.

Pep Guardiola is not concerned about Manchester City's poor Anfield record as they look to move closer to Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday.

A home win would put Liverpool - who were pipped to the title by Guardiola's side in May - nine points ahead of City, who have managed one league win at Anfield since 1981.

"Regarding statistics, I don't believe much in that kind of thing," he said.
"Statistics are OK but I'm thinking of what we have to do to beat them."

City's only league victory at Anfield in the past 38 years came in May 2003 when they recorded a 2-1 victory.

This will be their first league meeting since January, when City won 2-1. That was Liverpool's only league defeat of last season as they fought toe-to-toe for the title with a City side who finished with 14 consecutive wins to finish top by a point.

Can go different ways this game, but why City are priced as favourites here is a total mystery. Same club that's lost to Norwich and Wolves. Wonder what price either of those two sides would be in this game?

In that case they must be a lay here at the prices. Any rationale for making them favourite to win this?
By:

City may well go onto win, but I can't have them as favourites at Anfield today. So had a bit more laying them at 2.56 and backing us at 2.98 a couple of hours back.

Both have great front 3s, Man City much better in midfield, Liverpool have better defence, McGinn best midlfielder last week according to Liverpool fans, on balance perhaps Citys midfield will win this game.
