Years ago women looked askance and sport and saw little boys with their games, and it became big-time and popular so of course women wanted in!  Like Gaming, once seen as sad boys in their bedrooms and basements, became big-time so now of course women want in and want to control games and their supposed sexism!

At least having the airhead Kelly Somers wrapping up EFL is an improvement on that fat bald northern fecker on Final Score.  Pleasing on the eye.

Can't stand women football commentators , Vickie Sparks etc. It is too high pitched and my ears are almost bleeding . It's like being an extra in the film Scanners....

I am a woman but I don't like female presenters or commentators.  It is nothing to do with what gender you are but whether you know the game.  Playing some female football is not the same as premier league games.  I groan when I am watching match of the day and a female commentator comes on 

If a woman can recognise a poor commentator and comment to that effect  then it kind of shows a woman can be a good commentator, not that they can't, but as of yet they have not met the standards of the listeners.

My Mrs doesn't like the female commentators on tv, but also doesn't like some blokes.

She can chat about football, with me and other folk at the game and in social conversations, and she never played the game

I quite like Alex Scott but she's more of a pundit, and maybe overused.

Not just the women though some of the blokes are awful as well, they are told to try and make it sound so good, big fancy words when a goal goes in etc

I thought Emma Hayes yesterday Poland v Slovakia was easily the best doing whatever they call that gig that I've heard in years. It might be that she had the timbre of a bored bricklayer and not the overexcited schoolgirl one often gets,  or simply that most people who do that gig are about as insightful as the Exchange and Mart, but I thought she was prescient and interesting throughout.

So that's one in the eye for..er...me.

I don't care if they are men or women.  The vast majority of them are rubbish.  The box-ticking exercise is so obvious now, it is pathetic.

I'd say that some of the women know they have to work harder at the job.  Too many lazy feckers like Shearer and Macmanaman around - just think they need to turn up.

Can't think of many very good pundits, but Owen Hargreaves seems one of the best.

Why have so many ex-players as pundits rather than out of work coaches or managers?

Yep.  I don't know exactly how they do the xg, but normally if you tried to shoot from that position you would have at least one man closing you down.

I love the xg stat and wish it was more easily available.

Does she know fa about men's football?

xG is based on hundreds of thousands of games...i doubt there are any situations in a football match that they cant arrive at an xG value for (that they are happier with than zero)

The only xg for the Schick long range goal I've seen has it at 0.01.

personally dubious an attempt in those circs only has a 1 in 100 SR but others will def have looked at it closer than i ever will!
