Peps a clown foden is nothing specual , ps the most talented player in the premiership is Sane
Who wants away and should leave |

think PG lets himself down a bit with these sweeping statements he often makes, think he said something similar about Lahm previously and the of course napoli were the best team he'd every played against a couple of seasons ago...

When I was very little I used to play a game with my nan (she died when I was 7, so I was young). It was similar to Hungry Hippos but it was dinosaur heads you operated and you had to pick up bones. She'd beat me every time. My mum later told me, when I was older, that she urged my nan to let me win occasionally but she refused. Then one day I won for the first time. Then I won some more. Those wins were worth a lot because they were genuine. The same goes for praise. If it gets thrown about then it loses its meaning. If you're praised by someone who rarely praises then you know you deserve it.

If Foden is so good how come he's not first on the team sheet for every game?

because David Silva is still playing

looks like the 30 year mob have got problems , the other day klopp was crying about mane , salah etc saying they had not had a rest , be very surprised if they do as well as last season

He did have a go at the oil rig and their oil barrels , maybe the love affair between the mickeys and the bitter berties might now come to and end

Klopps comments were a bit bizarre as City have only made 3 major signings in the last four seasons and they've spent £250m.

are you a bit simple themover?
|
|
By:
Not that I know of, but I'm sure you are a better judge than me from an anoymous internet forum, and that you know better than Pep Guardiola.

napoli have won nothing since PG said it nearly 2 years ago and havent made in the knockout stages of the champions league since then either, but winning a pointless game today proves his point? if you believe that you are as simple af, PG has his own agendas, none of us know foden as well as him but only a daft few will take his statement about him seriously, come back and say told you so when he's won a few ballon d'ors

It's not a very good tactics of Gaurdiola to say this about Foden as it immediately puts untold pressure onto him, now when he goes out on to the pitch he's going to feel like he now has to live up to that, which means being better than Messi at that age, I think in Guardiola's mind he was trying to turbo charge his confidence levels but really it's poor psychology to set the bar so high, Alex Ferguson had the right idea in making sure the likes of Giggs done as little media work as possbile, to take the limelight away from him to allow him to just concentrate on his development/progression. Pep is a great manager but think he gets carried away in the moment sometimes and doesn't really mean everything he says, the comment about Napoli was one of them, Napoli were on a great run winning all 8 Serie A games, top of the league with a +21 goal difference, but they had been beaten already in Europe by Donetsk away, City were hanging on to a 2-1 lead to the end and it was probably a comment born out of relief more than anything.

Pep's getting more embarrassing the longer he resides in England. He started off not too bad, but gradually he was worn down by the desperate, insular mentality to become just another nauseating mouthpiece for anything "Epl" or English.
|
|
By:
have you seen much of Foden ProSniper? What are your thoughts on his development?
|
|
By:
I've seen and followed his bit-part role. He's obviously a good player with tons of potential..but as with so many English players that burst onto the scene, he's hyped into "genius" and is tagged as "world class" long before he's done anything to justify such lofty praise. We won't know how he's truly developing until he's holding down a 1st team spot.

I don't think Guardiola was saying that. He's always said Messi was the best player in the world. Messi at Foden's age was playing in a deeper role and was apparently pretty poor in training as he just lost interest. In his first season, other than the hat-trick everyone remembers, he created very few assists and was hardly in the majority of games. I think it was Tito Vilanova, who was assistant manager at the time, that changed his training to try and get him interested and then of course they changed his role and hey presto. I'm not saying Guardiola is right or wrong in what he says as it's impossible to know but he was bound to say something positive when a journo has asked him about a player sat next to him! Plenty of talented youngsters have gone on to achieve very little for one reason or another but he obviously rates him highly compared with others he has coached and he's got a big job coming up in David Silva's spot, if that's where he plans to play him.

He'll never be as good as messi because he's a midfielder not a forward so he will never score those number of goals. Unless he's turned into a striker but he is very small. Messi was given growth hormone. Foden for me unless given HGH will lol be small in stature and a wilsehere type midfielder , tactically naive but a good dribbler. Jury is still out on his ceiling but he was clearly England's best player at the recent u21 tournament but then again that's not saying much. We should get excited about players like him though because he is clearly exceptional, at the moment, but kicking on to the next level is the hard bit, if he thinks he's made it and stops working on his game then he will go nowhere but if he can apply his talents then he can be England's next great player. How good he becomes is really down to his attitude to being a professional footballer in the most watched league in the world. Worlds his oyster

By:
Foden is the same height and weight as Messi. They're about the only similarities. Foden is not 'clearly exceptional'. He has started 3 PL games.
Messi was given growth hormone as a child because he suffered from a deficiency and stopped growing at 4'2" and doctors predicted he wouldn't grow taller than 4'7" without it. |

He's got the thickest Mancunian accent I've ever heard. Can't understand a word he says. Speaking of Mancunians from the little I've seen Ravel Morrison has more natural talent IMO.

Pep is such a gent. It was such a mismatch against Villa he told the worlds best player to only use his left foot all game.
|
|
By:
Pep would say that to appease the gullible locals before he does one
|
|
By:
He's an exceptional talent, who was the best player on the pitch until KDB came on imo.
He was a better player than Maddison and Mount in the Euro U21 tournament in the Summer. That said Pep is talking bollox. If he'd meant it he'd start him more often. |

Can only put sitters in from close home. Couldn't hit a barn door otherwise. Certainly has quality in other areas and good enough to be a premiership player. On another topic how is Mendy anywhere near good enough for man city ?
|

By:
I can't see it personally, I just haven't seen anything magical at all, Messi was off the scale at the same age, haven't seen any kind of mazy dribbles or anything else that gets you off your seat, technical good but not one you'd pay the entrance fee or stand up and clap for, he probably gets a hard time though because he's a City player and fans rebel against anything they do because of the money that runs the clubs, hope he becomes a top talent though England needs as many as they can get.
