City knocked out PSG under Pellegrini when they were defensively more solid and PSG were equally inexperienced. Under Pep they are much worse defensively. Conceded 6 in 2 legs v Monaco and 5 in 2 legs against Liverpool when favourites to beat both.

When they come up against the likes of Barca, Real, Atleti/Juve they will be found out at the back. They've done nothing to sort out their defence since Pep took over. You would at least expect them to look solid at th4e back for them to be favourites. No basis for it.

You don't have to keep clean sheets to win it. The best defences of the last 10 years have been Atletico and Juvenile but they have not won it once between then as they always find one team that has too much firepower in the end.

if you have defence which gives away cheap goals you have to do something about that to win it. Agree you don't have to keep clean sheets but they are more likely to concede 2 or more in 90 mins against a top side than keep a clean sheet. All the evidence says this. Do you think they look defensively more solid this year in Europe?

I don't think they'll win it but that is not the argument. The argument is that they shouldn't be favourites with such a suspect defence and their track record.

They signed Laporte January 2018. He played both legs against Liverpool. They haven't looked more solid defensively in Europe this season, worse if anything. He's replaced Zabaleta with Walker and Kompany with Stones effectively. Otamendi has never been a top class CH and has been making schoolboy errors in big games for a long time.

By hook or by crook, they will get to the final, aided as usual by refs and UEFA
