no idea how much the loss of those two will weaken them, interesting game
|
|
By:
they still have mbappe , di maria , draxler , verrati etc , but if cavani is out as well that gives us much beter chance
|
|
By:
dont you just the love the ch lg ,sweat tears to get there so the fans can see the best players in the world in the flesh ,then hide behind the sette, crossing your fingers hoping they have an injury crisis play some ladsfrom the stiffs so you have a chance of winning,
![]() ![]() ,same thought process applies to promoted, struggling clubs in EPL |

anyone who has been watching psg lately will fancy united here. not one player in the lyon team would get into uniteds team and psg were beaten on merit by them last week. getting verrati back will be a bonus but he's missed game time. neymar of course is crucial and his link up with mbappe, united were 2/1 last week to qualify top price of 11/8 suggests the market has cottoned on

still by far the best team utd have faced since jose went besides spuds, who should have could have buried utd at Wembley

if, in general (ie going back to games before xmas), you think lyon are a better team than psg, fine, IMO psg under performed last week and manu have a decent chance here of making the last 8

Aouar and NDombele at the heart of Lyons midfield are real stars.
They are far more mobile and much better athletes than herrera and matic. Fekir is a more skillful player than Pogba (tho Pog would be the better athlete). I imagine the three of them will be in the epl soon probably at champions league clubs. I would give the nod to the utd forward line but not by much. Moussa Dembele was the best player in scotland at celtic and its worth keeping an eye on him. The defence of both are fair without being anything special while De gea i would take over antho lopes. Better bet is for unders in the Man U PSG game, with Cavani and Neymar out - away side may play very tight.
No goalfest this one, even though market thinks so. |

Tutchel vs OGS. Is it shalke vs molde. Some grey EL match up. Nope it's box office PSG vs man utd. OGS is more understandable at least he was a man utd great. I think Pep and to a lesser extent Simeone are the last of the super managers.

De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw, Matic, Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Martial, Rashford

I've gone for a corner bet +10 as my main bet but have a free in play bet with b365 so +3.5 goals for that.

I think Man Utd have a very good chance with Cavani out. Without his workrate and physical presence and Neymar's creativity PSG are a much reduced threat. And their record in the CL is disappointing anyway, especially away from home. I included Utd in a to qualify treble (with Roma and Dortmund) a couple of weeks ago when they were 2/1. The price is a lot less appealing now. but I might still back them to win tonight, if the price increases after KO. Also have a correct score double of 2-1 at 68/1. Although a 1-1 at Old Trafford wouldn't surprise me.

VAR makes its CL debut tonight. I've backed a penalty in each game for interest.
PSG have given away 3 pens in 6 group games. Gave 1 away in the loss to Lyon, gave 3 away against Guingamp in the League Cup loss, scored one last week. Likewise, there have been 7 pens taken in 6 Porto group games, Roma none. Will be surprised if there isn't a big VAR decision in at least one of the matches. Red cards might be another option. More chance of a red with VAR imo. Might even get a pen/red card in one incident but might leave that for a bet in-play. Penalty taken does not go-in-play. |

By:
I'd like United to win tonight but sooner or later our defence is going to be exposed.
I think Selves will cause us problems. |

For the same reasons as lurka I have backed a pen in each CL game double @ 10.4 on 365

By:
Just can't see them not showing off their new toy tonight and they were bad enough for game changing decisions without VAR
|
|
By:
good point, could well be a pen, or some over-analysed, contentious incident with VAR
|
|
By:
VAR makes me a little worried about backing lower goals must admit.
|
|
By:
I hope it doesn't come down to whether some player's toe is half a centimetre in front of the flapping sleeve of another's shirt (which the pundits has to look at about 10 times before they could decide). Like it was for a recent Cup game (I forget which).
