Seems very strange. Is this a Yemen team made up of pro Saudi prince militia? Surely no Yemeni person would dream of entertaining that lot even if sport is meant to bypass political 'differences?? '

I know but why would Yemen players even dream of playing them given their causing untold suffering and famine to their people?

probably saudi based, no yemeni based player  in right mind would play them. . plus play or be crucified/beheaded, take your pick.

The Yemen government - in so far as it governs anything - is propped up by Saudi

The rebels they are fighting are backed by Iran.

Er no.  Russia and Syria are allies.   Saudi Arabia (backed by Uk and US) is carrying out a genocide in Yemen.

The Saudis are killing people that won't support the Yemeni government. The Russians are killing people who won't support the Syrian government.

So yeah it's the same deal really.
