I think there may of been a VAR decision late on in the game that affected the market in some way?
I could be wrong but it seems to be happening a lot recently. |

they've taken my winnings AND my stake.......anyone else? (I had Barca win)
|
|
By:
Actually they have taken my stake as far as my account balance is concerned. As I laid the other side at 95s when Barca were 1-0 up I have "lost" over £1000. That leaves me with not very much.

you'll get it back soon. Probably voiding all the bets that went through around the time of the incident.
|
|
By:
Mine was matched at about 60 mins as far as I remember.
|
|
By:
They've taken my winnings and stake also
|
|

This is the problem for traders, if they void one bet and leave the other you can be left with a huge liability .. VAR means even if you bet wins you may still lose days later

It is really tricky to bet when are VAR descision is made. Real Valladolid scored a 92nd minute equalizer. However, this was disallowed by the VAR due to offside. The market was suspended at quickly unsuspended, before the VAR descision. Therefore, Barcelona to win were matched at 12! And the draw was matched to 1.12! Then the market was suspended and 1-0 was restored and it was Barca 1.01 then... And 30 seconds later Full Time. I am wandering what Betfair will do now.

Gaining an advantage through VAR is less of an injustice than losing stakes on legitimate bets. Often match feeds are lost with it " putting bets on at your own risk " wheeled out so the same should apply for VAR and just leave things as they are. IF the odd game has a few seconds of disproportional odds so what - that's betting. You can't keep having stakes removed because of this
|

By:
They obviously have a problem with bets placed around the time bit it lookas though they have voided ALL bets. Mine were matched half an hour or more before the VAR incident.

Mine has just been fixed. Back to where it was

Good luck trading in-play with these ridiculous rules.
2 months down the line your accounts empty. lol how have they not worked around this as of yet? |
|
By:
Yes I have my winnings thanks. ( not much tbh )
|
|
By:
The biggest fear of mine would be leaving the lay bet and cancelling the back one … a single VAR decision could wipe someone out. Lets say you were trading a market , backing and laying at 16 then 15.. you could leave the game thinking you have locked in one unit only to find a day later the back was cancelled due to VAR leaving the lay of 15

Agree. I mainly play racing but if I do do football I have started to trade more. Can't get my head round what they do with VAR so will stick to English football.
|

By:
So what is the result? Did you lose if you have draw? Or are all bets void? anybody knows the result of this ?
I don´t like var |
|
By:
Salmon spray:
"Yes I have my winnings thanks. ( not much tbh ) " so you won? Or void? What did you bet on? barca? |
|
By:
Can't really see how VAR is even a slight issue. Just give it a couple of minutes to be certain. If you're placing bets immediately after a possible VAR moment, what do people expect?

laying valladolid for your bank in-running at huge odds on a cow field has to be the craziest chase bet i've seen in a while

Var's a game changer...you should just get rid of the 'suspend monkey' and let the real men bet.
|
|
By:
If we are all betting against each other as the site claims , why do we even need to suspend games. Leave it to dog eat dog not bots operated by betfair. True peer to peer betting would involve no third party intervention from betfair other than paying out winning bets instead of matches being suspended for throwins to protect their own cash.
|
|
By:
I remember they experimented with that on the first goalscorer market. One of the first games involved Owen "scoring" matched at 1.01, only problem was it turned out to be an own goal!

Have to say I don't understand the need to suspend games in progress;people should be allowed to bet unencumbered throughout the duration of the match.Should be a case of caveat emptor for both backer and layer.

I'm sure we can all imagine what would happen to liquidity if there were no suspends. Best leave the hoovering for the horse racing.

And yes I won.
you bet 1.01 and collected ![]() , just think yourself lucky you didnt happen to be watching the porto game at that time instead |

Wow this forum is full of genius its a wonder why people come on the forum when they are so clever you all must make a fortune cause you know everything.

Or is it just frustration because you cannot win a penny?

Someone has to be leaving money up Wolf or there would be no liquidity Wolf, that's the point. No-one would want to market make or leave money up in a no suspensions market, it would just be a hooverers paradise.
Really the market should be suspended while all VAR decisions are taking place. Which I think is what they are trying to do, and then if this fails for some reason they have to void bets really. It creates too much uncertainty otherwise. |

The tennis market seems to be doing okay without the 3rd party interventions.
