Funny that it coincides with Trump announcing at the start of the week he was intending on pulling the rest of there troops still in Syria that this chemical attack comes about... Hmm
As for the world cup will be business as usual. |

And you would've won it with class players like Cahill, Jones, Sterling and Diet.

The UK government need to start producing evidence if they are accusing the Russians of using chemical weapons.
All this 'he said she said' nonsense they are coming out with means that the england football squad will be pariahs even before the tournament starts. Given that english footballers are notoriously uneasy tourists then the op is right. They would be better off not going. |

Have to say i was very impressed with mr southgate in the last bout of international friendlies.
Some elements of the uk media were trying to goad him into some anti russian statements but the english manager was not having a bar of it. I believe GS said he had always felt completely safe in russia and the uk ought to get its own house in order first before criticising other countries. quite. |

Assad wants to retain control of his country, he has kicked ISIS out of many cities with Russian help. Trump announces he is pulling US troops out. Launching a chemical attack now is simply the most ludicrous thing he could do. He doesn't hate his people, he hates the terrorists who are destroying his country and all of these chemical attacks happen in Western-backed terrorist controlled areas where he is not in control. The skripal poisoning story has more holes in it than a Swiss cheese and you can tell by how quickly BoJo pointed the finger that it is nonsense and simply a war narrative. They have been making Russia out to be the bogeyman for at least the last 10 years as it has been getting back on its feet and becoming powerful again. When the USSR broke up they needed a new enemy to sell their perpetual war and Al Qaeda filled in while Russia was weak.
The West has been arming, funding and training Al Qaeda fighters in Syria to cause unrest and create a 'humanitarian' situation. They have been using this tactic since the 1950s when they overthrew the Shah of Iran because he was not friendly to the West in terms of oil policy. The CIA have admitted what they did in Iran recently, look it up if you don't believe me. The US used a similar tactic to go to war in Vietnam, fabricating an attack by the Communist Vietnamese on one of their ships as a reason to go to war. But in Syria they are not called Al Qaeda any more, they are called 'moderates' now, the same guys who bombed NY and London. The West did the same in Afghanistan in the 1980s when they funded Bin Laden and his mujahideen fighters in a proxy war against Russia there. That is where the name 'Al Qaeda' came from, a CIA database of Bin Laden and his fighters. But they are OK when they are doing the West's dirty work. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. They'll be the enemy again when it suits them. These are deep state, military industrial and elite banker policies by the people who really control the Western governments, regardless of who is elected leader, and have been making trillions from wars for hundreds of years. They control the media also and are rarely in the spotlight. But the difference is that people are wise to it now and they don't have control of the internet. Removing these guys doesn't work either, these countries need an oppressive leader, otherwise they fragment into endless, lawless, tribal civil wars where extremists like ISIS take over. Look at Iraq and Lybia, you have destroyed those countries. Both their leaders were unfriendly to the West in terms of oil policy as well. See a pattern here? Ask yourself why your government chooses to spend trillions of YOUR money on the citizens of another country and not you? There are homeless people on your streets and people reliant on foodbanks and we've had a decade of austerity policies but it's more important to spend your money 'liberating' the citizens of an oppressive 'regime'? You have to be a unique type of gullible to fall for it for the nth time. |

Assad is a nasty dictator like Saddam and Gaddafi before him. However,as has been said, these types can maintain some sort of stability which has disappeared in Iraq and Libya since they were overthrown. I didn't think there was any real suggestion that the Russians were using chemical weapons in Syria,Assad probably is but will have his own.
As far as the World Cup is concerned my money would still be on England going,as I don't think anybody else will withdraw in "solidarity" unless things change significantly. Any England fan thinking of going there must be mad imo though. |

The irony is, the west interfering in Iraq and Syria has led to Brexit and a weakened German government which is exactly what they didn't want, immigration being the main issue on both fronts, not a NHS bus, they've spent decades creating, building and selling the EU dream only for a mass exodus of economic migrants and few genuine refugees who refused to stop in the first safe country, to help slowly destroy it. Likes of Hussain, Assad and Gadaffi as many middle Eastern experts said at the time, were the lesser of two evils. The Manchester bombings, the London bombings, the Nice, Barcelona and Berlin attacks are all the result of Western intervention, and Tony Blair has the audacity to ask for a second referendum lol.

Putin has stated his defence budget is less than one tenth of the US.
His country is so huge it crosses about a dozen time zones. The last thing he wants is a war with the west. The salisbury poisoning increasingly looks like it will have little to do with the kremlin. These novichuks, the laboratries were dismantled under US supervision in the 1990s. They were situated in uzbekistan which is now not part of the russian federation. All the chemists based there went off to the west to have careers in industry. THe Mail is reporting that the skripal girl was involved in some sort of tempestuous relationship with a former russian agent. Lets face it. These people are spies. Their lives are going to be subject to all sorts of classified legislation. From what little i know from john le carre, len deighton novels the government of this country will be fed whatever information the intelligence community wants them to know. If the likes of boris johnson wants to go shooting his mouth on the basis of that info, then good luck to him. He probably needs to realise that the electorate isnt made up of sun-readers anymore though. Quite a lot of us take no notice of the carp that comes out of politicians. I will be very surprised if anything like the truth comes out of salisbury. If indeed there is any actual truth that can be attributed to the whole thing. An enigma wrapped round a riddle inside a mystery. Or some such |

Any English fans who travel to Russia for the world cup are insane. They will get not a jot of help and support out there when they get targetted and blamed for any trouble. We are a hiding to nothing and should pull out.

That's nothing to do with wars, that's to do with neo-liberalism and the planned destruction of the state. We've had a decade of austerity policies because it's a convenient excuse to destroy public services, reduce pensions and when we leave the EU to take away people's rights at work. You're incredibly naive to think this government is interested in the homeless or people going to food banks, and that the only reason we're not spending enough on social care and the NHS has anything to do with spending on combating ISIS, Russia or Syria. Government's know exactly the effects their policies will have they're planned that way, for an example see Universal Credit or PIP. Both were designed to prevent people from getting what they're due in benefits, and to make the processes so awful that it puts people off claiming in the first place. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the International situation, it has little to do with the privatisation of the NHS, or the hollowing out of the state. |

So who did use chemical weapons in Syria and who carried out the Salisbury attack? With the utter mess this gov and country is in both at home and internationally it obviously wasn't the U.K gov (that includes fabricating either/both) so who does that leave - esp Syria?

And as Syria's guarantor on the destruction of their chemical weapons which the were supposed to have done years ago Russia obviously at the very least bears responsibility for it and you'd be beyond naive to think they played no par in allowing it. Add dall the together and with Kane's injury England have got no chance in the world cup!

The Russkies, as you call them have already invaded. They own most of knightsbridge. A situation allowed by various conservative governments. Among others.

Those that fought and died for Britain in WW2 are probably turning in their grave at what utter pu$$ies today's generation are, forum is full of wimps talking about how brave England fans would be to risk going to big bad Russia ffs, last thing Russia wants is their chances of hosting future sporting events put into jeopardy, they'll be coming down twice as hard on their own hooligans who are no doubt have been left in no uncertain terms what will happen to them if they misbehave. Most Russian football fans are like most English football fans, they don't give a s*** about politics either, this who spy story will be forgotten about in two months.
At this rate it seems like more Scottish fans will be flying over to Russia to cheer on whoever England are playing than there will be England fans cheering on England ![]() |

Personally as one of the founding members of the Lefty-Liberal-Luvee-P*ssy Alliance I would like nothing better for Comrade Putin to send over a task force to overthrow the forces of capitalism in this country and impose Comrade Corbyn as our lifetime President.
I happen to know that Uncle Vlad is the nicest bloke on the planet. Only Assad and Kim Jong Un run him close, now that nice Osama has unfortunately passed on. As for Litvinenko. The guy was a former russian spy who defected to the decadent west from the glorious Soviet..err...sorry... Russian motherland. For the crimes of purporting his criminal conspiracy theories I happen to believe that poisoning with polonium was far too good for him. Also my contact in the labour party tells me that Comrades Blair and Brown secretly sold most of London to our Russian friends who are now using the Peoples Republic of Kensington and Chelsea as a staging post for a Bolshevik style revolution. Similar events are planned in New York City with Comrade trump who of course got into power thanks to the KGB website also known as Facebook. If you need any more encouragement to confirm your fears my brothers. Please let me know. In the meantime keep reading the Sun and watching BBC news. |
