For every stupid transfer it hits the fan in the pocket, really hard to witness. |

Conte would have made a player of Barkley if anyone could have

UEFA want CL squad lists in tomorrow. The chavs were always going to be held to ransom because they can't make the locally trained player numbers.

Ross Barkley rejects move to Chelsea during his medical
"Ok Ross, next we're just going to do a routine tox screen. Could you just pee in this cup please..." "Ross..." "Ross...?" "Where did he go?" |

£30m for Barkley unreal. Remind me how many goals he has scored ?
By:
we have the back 5 covered now we need a midfield play and a forward think a new midfield player will come in but not a forward
By:
Delph might be available
By:
barkley would be 5th choice maybe he wants to play football if so don't blame him for not signing
By:
is it any f**king wonder Barkley turned them down if hes watching them trying to sign players of the standard of Drinkwater ffs
By:
drinkwater played with kante so that helps and he would not be first choice
By:
Recently good teams need to have 2 defensive midfielders, total opposite to Arsenal.
By:
so 40mil cover but only cover if its not kante he,s covering for LOL

By:
no the chelsea midfield will be kante bakayoko fabregas then drinkwater plus we have hazard to come back in

well he ain't gonna be less than Ox is he? Drinkwater the sort of player Arsenal need but because he isn't foreign neither Wenger or the Gooners can see it. It seems people have forgotten the season before last when Kante and Drinkwater owned the EPL. They weren't fashionable but they were effective.
By:
Quite right ph and a number of posters on here can't see it either. They are still pretending Leicester didn't actually win the title by 10 points.
By:
If you were buying players based on the season before last, you would snap up Mahrez.
By:
who is he? matic out and him in? what is going on in Chelsea?
By:
Obviously some posters suffer from memory loss, and have already forgotten many of the great performances from Drinkwater when Leicester romped to the Prem. title.
Also many posters couldn't understand the Victor Moses show, who had a great season,as did Marcos Alonso. The secret is the manager getting the best out of his players, doing what he is paid to do.Several Chelsea players performed well above expectations last season, due to Conte, surprising many, especially the know-it-all pundits. The majority of football supporters thought it was a great laugh,as did most pundits, when Chelsea bought David Luiz back, and what a great season he had last season. So to sum up,just watch, and then make an opinion on what was right ,and what was wrong. |

We are punters, not fanboys. Anyone betting according to "stale" performances/ratings isn't going to last long.

drinkwater had the luxury, advantage, luck call it what you want of teams disrerspecting leciester right till the end and allowed them acres of grass in behind, like evertons midfield had with lineker years ago,and drinkwater basically played balls over the top blind for vardy to chase after, there,ll be none of that at chelsea with morata up top and teams defending deep against them, imo
By:
The big factor that is being forgotten by many is the value of the "link" guys playing in front of the defence, and having Kante AND Drinkwater was a huge plus for Leicester,as was Kante and Matic for us.Teams that don't have these type of players end up missing out,so they are worth their fees, even though it costs to get them.It appears that there isn't a surplus of this type of player, and winning teams, over the years, have had this type of player. They are hard to find, and make,or break,a team, for example Man City have missed out in that position, and ,to some extent,Arsenal, who badly need another Vieira.

Drinkwater is a decent player and was excellent the season before last. Obviously 40m is too much but you could say that about so many transfers, particularly of British players. He's very good back up for Chelsea and you can see the logic in signing him. Whether it's a good career move for Drinkwater is another matter. Hard to see him being a 1st team regular starter.
By:
he's gonna get overrun by the good clubs though in the latter stages of the CL. i'd be worried playing him against a top side but he could be a decent squad player for the carling cup / fa cup or a few premier league games
By:
better off getting mahrez as a back up for pedro/willian/hazard. although his buy out would probably be double that of drinkwater, he's got double the impact.

Incredible to think that it was only 4 years ago that Arsenal bid £40m + £1 for Suarez.
