England's two Centre halves are immense.

Unlucky Spain, technically by far the better team. Denied an obvious penalty at about 80 minutes, baffling decision. Could have made it 1-1, which would still have flattered England.

Why was it a penalty?
Did she deliberately control the ball with her hand? No, it was a rebound. Learn the laws of the game or you will start sounding like Alan Shearer... and that's not a compliment. |

What a bizarre statement! Are you on drugs or something?

The thing is Spain had the ball, but they didn't really impress me. Other than the penalty they should have had they didn't look like scoring once in open play, I don't even remember them creating a chance, hardly much to show for 76% possession. Meanwhile England should have had at least 3, and missed at least another good chance.

Still can't recover from that disallowed goal in the first half. Had a bet on +1.5 HT goals at 3.4 but that stupid assistant f***ed me up good. Gutted!

France and Germany have looked very beatable this tournament. Certainly not vintage at all.
Ironically this could hurt England though. France now look like not winning their group. If they come 2nd they play England in the QF's who have almost certainly won the group. Germany if they win their group then likely await in the SF's, however they also aren't in pole position to win their group either. |

What a bizarre statement! Are you on drugs or something? Shocked If you would like to debate the incident whilst referencing the relevant laws of the game then please go ahead. If you think it was a penalty simply because the ball hit her hand then best leave it because you do not know what you are talking about. |

FYI, I have neither the time nor the inclination to debate the laws of the game with you, or anyone else. If you feel so strongly about the views of Alan Shearer, why don't you go on Twitter and discuss them with him? Or set up a frustrated referees forum and vent your spleen on there. This is the sort of thing that puts so many people off posting on here. You can't express an opinion without some computer game-generation muppet who has never played football, coming on and trying to ram their opinions down your throat!
