I had a bet earlier on the first goalscorer of a game in Bolivia and it has been settled as a loss when it won. Anyone had this before on here? Shouldn't have to chase customer service for a winning bet they have settled as a loss ffs

Oriente scored first - a penalty . Ridiculous having to chase it ..I know its only 35 quid but the principle remains

is there 2 players with the same/similar name?
Report 11kv May 29, 2017 10:09 AM BST
What was the name of the player, you say it was first goal scorer.....
Report s.kenbo May 29, 2017 10:15 AM BST
Surely he's betting on the team to score first at those odds?
Report wolf3011 May 29, 2017 10:39 AM BST
I backed the team to score first and they still havent sorted it out ten hous later... utterly disgusting service

If need be I'll take them to a small claims for fraud/ theft if that's what it takes. Warning for anyone betting on late night games what potentially awaits.. 3 phone calls , email chats and fck all being done
Report s.kenbo May 29, 2017 11:07 AM BST
I wouldn't worry too much. If you're that desperate for a bet (I'm presuming you know fook all about Bolivian football here?) you're going to give it back fairly soon imo.
Report wolf3011 May 29, 2017 11:13 AM BST
You can take the mick all you like fella, a betting company shouldn't be forcing any customer to chase a winning bet up. I'm presuming you know fook all about anything with those sorts of comments. People want to have recreational bets without having to chase up winnings
Report s.kenbo May 29, 2017 11:21 AM BST
I agree it's a poor show by them. You're 1.01 to be paid out correctly though (if the bet was placed on the right market, which it looks like it was)

I do know that betting on a team to score first (at half time, and gone 1am) is a little more than a recreational punt, and a bit more betting for the sakes of betting.
Report wolf3011 May 29, 2017 11:32 AM BST
Watching an online game  bored late at night and backing a team to score first is recreational in my book, don;t know what else you would call it. In your view anyone betting on an online match on a bank holiday is betting for the sake of betting?- haha ok whatever pal. If it was serious betting it would be for more than 35 quid when I pay a premium charge here and have had bets of 5 k on a match before now. Maybe 35 quid is serious betting in your eyes lol, it's not in mine .. I'm chasing the principle here not the money which is unprofessional and wrong on so many levels.
Report s.kenbo May 29, 2017 11:35 AM BST
Fair enough. Talk of 'court action' over £28 makes you sound silly imo.

I hope they sort it for you.
Report wolf3011 May 29, 2017 11:38 AM BST
Maybe you allow people to walk all over you and if someone nicked 28 quid from you it wouldn't be an issue. There's a principle at stake and nothing silly about asking a company to do what it should do. 2 quid or 2 grand .. makes no difference to me, it's theft.
Report s.kenbo May 29, 2017 11:42 AM BST
It's a common occurrence on here. If they refuse to settle your bet correctly after having a chat with them, then you could taker whatever action you deem necessary. But as I say, they'll sort it out for you, in time. I doubt the small claims court, or the fraud squad will be needed here!

I've been using betfair for over a decade and never had anything like this. No issues with a mistake being made, but 4 emails and 3 calls and nothing done nearly 12 hours later ? I've already had many chats and they keep saying they will sort it out- it's poor.
Report donny osmond May 29, 2017 11:58 AM BST
phone them, it will do the trick, ask to speak to somebody higher up if customer services cant do anything

getting it wrong seems to happen more often, but with so many markets i guess its going to happen

Have done mate and the guy I spoke to sounded decent enough but what's the point in them having online operators if they can't sort it out. Ten hours later and they still have me messing about- if you copy and paste the bet to the chat people here online ( 2 of them) its not unreasonable to expect them to sort it out by noon the next day.

Chat with the twitter support, they just call the right people and get your stuff fixed. On the phone and in the chat you just run circles with low level support who can't do ****.

It's just a crap situation and shouldn't be.
