Armstong was immense.
Forest had his best game in a Scotland shirt.
Tierney just gets better and better.

and Martin saved the day (great substitution but should have played from the start, Griffiths isn't good enough).

We need a battering ram up front. Snodgrass has no pace no point playing him out wide. Anya threatens much more. Armstrong is a star and Scott Brown despite his daft off the ball incidents is vital in that midfield.

ryan fraser can put a ball in, if we had ibrahimovic up top id say we need somebody who can be spraying balls around more than anything else but i dont think he offers enough as a player.  its not like hes good enough a player for us to carry him, frasers got a tackle in him, closes down faster, plays smarter passes.

Another strength of Fraser is he is tiny with tremendous pace and is pushed over easily. He must of earned Bournemouth 4 or 5 penalties already this season.
Report allyp March 26, 2017 10:31 PM BST
Not sure I have seen enough of Fraser rgds his delivery, seen snodgrass when at hull this season and at West Ham, and his set piece piece stuff is right up there. He had some issues with temperament but seems to have calmed down.

Remember Fraser against Liverpool and he came on and changed the game, hopefully he does kick on, but if u are looking to switch players I would leaving out Forrest for him. Just think when u r lacking goals in the team, (and we are) u need a strength in set piece. Look at the those corners going in, we had one disallowed and a couple cleared off line from good deliveries. IMO the teams who punch above their weight typically are well organised and are strong at the set piece.

Report allyp March 26, 2017 10:38 PM BST

Couple of his boys were very handy with elbows on Friday night!
Report Geesyerdosh March 26, 2017 10:41 PM BST
I'm not sure you can pick a player just for his set piece delivery. His inswinging balls were dangerous low pacy and flat but his outswinging balls are a total waste far too high easy to defend. At Hull I don't think he delivered great balls in he just had player like Dawson and McGuire attacking them which made them a threat. If he gets space ie Griffiths sitter he can put it on a plate but too many times he gets the ball out wide and faced up with a defender has to play it back as he has no pace or a trick.

Would agree u can't pick a player on that alone...but...when u / we are at a certain level, a level of pragmatism comes into it. I suppose in terms of hull, u can look at that way (great physical targets ) and / or great delivery.

I think the whole set piece emphasis in football did get raised with (sir) David B. I used to get fed up hearing how great his was, and used to get fed up hearing how great he was because he could ping a ball in, but I do think in the modern game there is a lack of quality from wide positions...maybe it's better set up from defensive team but I genuinely think there is a lack of it in the modern game and it's more important that it was in previous eras

Definitely when you are a team of limited ability set pieces can be a massive weapon, maybe even your main one. West Brom and Tony Pulis are a great example. By all accounts they work tirelessly at their set pieces and with Brunt's flat pacy delivery they threaten no matter who they play. But they have the huge threat of McAuley as well as Dawson, Evans and Rondon etc. Sadly for Scotland we have a team of mostly midgets as Strachan strangely keeps mentioning.
