They've played 3 times I think in cup games. Still given the history it's an interesting tie if it happens.
I suppose an Accrington / Stourbridge or Eastleigh drawing a plum tie at Old Trafford or Emirates would be a stand out tie as well, or at home.

Man United have vastly more armchair fans than any other club , you are basically saying ' i think we will just go with lower ratings ' by not choosing them.
In 2011 United home to a non league side got a bigger audience for ITV than Arsenal v Barcelona a few days later .

True. Just wondered if there is any potential Man U tie that wouldn't get on tv. Last one was Exeter at home i think? Any away tie would be on tele i reckon...

I really don't think there is any United tie that would not be chosen.
Even if the BBC turn it down not having such ratings pressure , BT know they will get an extra 100,000 subscribers for showing United vs whoever , so it is literally free money for them having already paid for the rights

They promote this cup heavily by talking about the magic of the cup yet show Man United whoever they play, so they are mis-selling it.
Man United are the complete opposite of what the magic of the cup considering they refused to enter it as Champions in 2000 to play in a tournament in Brazil instead, which devalued it ever since.
They shouldn't chase ratings, they should show the lower league clubs at every opportunity to practice what they preach when they keep talking about the magic of the cup, because really they don't really mean it when they just take the chance to show premier league clashes when they can.
