Well done Murray, people who accuse him of being a choker have zero idea about the game. I'm English as well. Top man, he's worked for it.

Scotland used to be known for football and rugby....now it's curling and tennis, badminton next I reckon

Tennis is gruelling if you are playing it right. No team to fall back on. Badminton is for geriatrics who like swatting budgies, no similarity whatsoever.

he'd swap it all to be English

He wouldn't, he voted out.

From Surrey?

Murray is a typical plastic ScotsNat. Loves the Saltire and Surrey.

By:
only stays in surrey cos its easier to get international flights than dunblane
|
|

they were debating who is the greatest british sportsman of all time on radio this morning, one of the journos said tony mccoy? surely you can't compare sitting on a horse, usually one of the favourites, to talent/skill sport like tennis, mcccoy killed his body but it's still really physically based in comparison.

That may be the reason but he still didn't vote for ind if true! |

Be very surprised if he spent more than a few weeks a year in Surrey. He earns prize money in dozens of countries so I imagine he lives where ever his accountant tells him to live. All that money and he is still a miserable Scots **** ![]() ![]() |

Andy Murray .. must be the original ...DOUR SCOT .. Judy don't smile too often either ..
wish him well as he managed to bring a .......Tear to my Eyes .. ...ready to hide behind the couch ..into the 3RD .MATCH POINT .. SHOUTING ....NO ..NO ..NO .. THEN HE CHUCKED THE RACKET OUT HIS PRAM HE KNEW BEFORE ANYONE IN THE AUDIENCE .. WHO WERE CLEAR SECONDS BEHIND ..........Marvellous stuff .. SIR ANDREW MURRAY OF DUNBLANE . MUST BE TOP SCOT EVER ,,.. |

Anybody who can't appreciate the dedication, effort and sheer skill that it takes to become the best player in the world at pretty much any sport and would rather talk about "personality" really doesn't understand sport. Top man Murray - I don't care whether he smiles or not. Just keep winning fella. And yes, I am English.

All of this dour Scot nonsense. You all need to realise he has fooled you, that's how he wants you to think. After the joke about supporting anyone but England in 2006, because of the media and fan backlash and not being able to understand it was tongue in cheek, he was never the same with the media again, his own brother says he deliberately tries to be boring so to gain no attention in the front pages, and it also allows him to concentrate purely on his tennis. His voice is boring, but he has a dry sense of humour, you'd have to to appear on mock the week and be mocked by comedians willingly and laugh.

Top guy really has matured well. One thing for sure GB will have a long wait for the next tennis No1.Sheer dedication well done Andy.
|
|
By:
Fantastic achievement and well done to his brother as well.
|
|
By:
Remember that d1ck henman blabbing on about playing "Grade A" tennis
![]() I doubt GB will ever have a player that achieves what Andy has and in doing so alongside greats like federed/nadal/djorkovic - quite amazing feat really... If djorkovic fails to sparkle next year then Andy could have an even better year if its even possible!! |
|
By:
Henman played alongside greats such as Sampras and Becker. And he was a hell of a tennis player - number 4 in the world at one point. No, I know he didn't win a slam and he lacked the "killer instinct" which Andy has, but he was still a great player. I could handle being the "4th best in the world" at something. At anything even. Tim was (is) a top man. So is Andy and yes, as Akabula pointed out so is Jamie.
