Why has he escaped unscathed from yesterdays non event?

Oh yes, he parades the touchline like a maniac and is charismatic. I've even heard some clueless journalists describing his ridiculous touchline antics as great for football, what the fck.

I thought Liverpool were just as bad as Utd. But lets all blame Mourinho. If a team parks the bus, you find a way to win. Liverpool would not have broken down an mfi wardrobe inside three days going by that utter boring shitt last night....

Sideways, backwards, sideways, back to goalie, forwards slightly, back to goalie, forwards slightly, walk into opponent, go down like a gunshot victim, wait for the physio to tell you, you've just grazed a finger nail, get up, slowly, take free kick, backwards pass to keeper, who is closed down by opponent, hoof it up the park to opposition who then lose it, back to start again. zzzzzzzz

Football, what a wonderful exciting game.

Klopp is 100% blameless, imo. With how negative Bourinho was, it would have played right in to his hands to have gone at it like they normally do, the way Rodgers did in that 0-2 that cost them the league. If a side like Hull parks the bus, then you have to find a way. If a side parks the bus and has quality the likes of Pogba in their side, it's almost impossible to get through. Liverpool have been brilliant this season, and they're 100% excused from last night, and that's coming from someone that did his b0llox backing goals

Klopp's so called big game record in the league isn't that bad so far is it? (city, utd, spurs, arsenal, chelsea, everton)

City 2 wins
Utd 1 draw, 1 loss
Chelsea 2 wins, 1 draw
Spurs 3 draws
Arsenal 1 win 1 draw
Everton 1 win 1 draw

If you maintain this sort of record in these games, it follows that beating the so called lesser teams regularly will have you in the shake up for the places, I don't know where this idea that the big games don't matter is coming from 1TP? Liverpool have been notoriously poor at putting away enough of the so called lesser sides in many a season and it is these games that determine your fate.

I don't actually think Liverpool passed the ball too well last night but the intent was certainly there, the play improved with the Sturridge/Lallana change but it was extremely difficult getting through this formation. I can't recall a Utd side paying us so much respect in any game, Mourinho has a good record at the smash and grab but their actual counter threat was practically non existent, it was a game he obviously did not want to lose at any costs as they would have already been seeing daylight in the table to where they want to be.A draw is not a bad result for liverpool if it's backed up with a home win against West Brom, the very sort of fixture that has not been put away enough recently and for many seasons post Benitez.

Klopp never set out to make the most expensively assembled team in world football play as yard dogs.

The Anfield faithful have been treated to some lovely footy this season and United have to endure forwards as full backs amidst the fear of losing.

To listen to most its a bit like the summers were better when I was young nonsense, Relax, its just another dose of wishful thinking.

Liverpool will never dominate again and nor United, the quality is evenly distribute these days its a new era.

The real story of the game was how Milner and Rashford cancelled each other out and the rest do what they usually do, go missing and are completely overstated with the odd performance.

Both are great managers but only one will gain legendary status and no prizes for guessing who.

It takes two to tango.Mourinho played his usual game plan on Monday night against Liverpool .This is  to go for a 0-0 draw with the bonus of a 1-0 victory if Utd get lucky. It sometimes works. In game 2 Burnley beat Liverpool 2-0 and got lucky scoring an early goal and then defending in depth for the rest of the match..Statistically Burnley had 18% possession ,the lowest ever for a Premiership match. Utd had 35% ,their lowest possession  percentage since 2003.It is measure of Liverpools firepower these days that opposing teams have no plan B either. The plan is  simply to camp on the edge of their own penalty area and hope for the best.West Brom will probably do the same on Saturday and will have a possession factor of about 25%The way to deal with this negativity is  not to send high crosses into the box but to send low drives into the central goal area .With a crowded goal area ,statistically one will get through to a Liverpool attacker or be diverted for an own goal.Rashford did this a couple on Monday night and it nearly resulted in a goal.

Utd play Chelsea at the weekend. This looks like another boredraw at 0-0 or a 1-0 win for Chelsea with Costa scoring the goal.

The key part of that is 'talk about'
Report n88uk October 19, 2016 3:02 PM BST
Well he hasn't won anything has he. The way some people are talking you'd think he won the league last year. It's 8 games in this season. Last season he didn't move Liverpool up in the league at all. Too early to parade him like he's the mastermind.
Report n88uk October 19, 2016 3:04 PM BST
Plenty of average players moved for around the same price as Benteke who aren't as good as him though. Like I say he will do well for Palace. He is probably really worth more than Liverpool sold him for, it's just hard to sell someone perceived to have flopped for a good price. He will do a good job for the right club, and Premier League clubs are happy to throw about 30m now like it's nothing.

Which people? You are using sweeping generalisations here for a whole fanbase. The media love Klopp and clearly its getting to some people (Jose for one). But most match going Liverpool fans arent decrying him as the new Messiah. He's clearly done a good job so far, and I would say almost every fan feels they are heading in the right direction. Thats all you can ask for at this stage.

It seems very short sighted to say he's done nothing just because he hasnt won a trophy though. Presumably Pochettino hasn't done anything either then? Its very, very hard to win a trophy these days, especially within your first year at a club.
Report Can't Catch Me October 19, 2016 3:08 PM BST
Or Everton were absolutely mugged off. Take your pick.

What about if you say Liverpool more or less swapped Benteke for Mané? You can twist it any way you like.

It still doesn't change that making out that getting £27m for Benteke was a master stroke is pushing it. It was going rate at best.
Report Can't Catch Me October 19, 2016 3:17 PM BST
I never said it was a master stroke. But I think it was very good business. Not because of the price in isolation. Mostly because he got rid of a squad player that didn't suit our system and replaced him with an important first teamer that does (Mané) for virtually nil spend. Anyone that suggests that change hasn't brought about a significant improvement clearly doesnt watch us enough.
Report jed.davison October 19, 2016 3:27 PM BST
Interesting analogy with Pochettino CCM - I had already read the first part of your post about heading in the right direction and thought that that was the change that had happened at Spurs.

It's impossible to quantify the difference Pochettino has made to Tottenham - however much Redknapp and AVB improved on what had gone before, this guy has taken their blueprint, torn it up, made the whole team his own and the style like nothing we've ever played before and made us ultra-competitive.

This is not to knock Klopp, I love the guy, and for the first time in a long time I genuinely fear Liverpool can be great again.

Pochettino's way has worked for us so far but we have no real idea if it will end with us winning trophies. To be honest, I don't even care if it does. It makes us worth watching, very hard to beat and a threat to any team in the land however many trillions of pounds put it together.

Perhaps this is the difference between Spurs and Liverpool - you expect to win trophy after trophy, we're just happy not to be completely shyte Laugh

I think you could replace Pochettino with Klopp in the above sentence and it would still be valid. Thats exactly how I feel. The buzz is back at Anfield. Fans love going the game again... win, lose or draw, its fun (apart from when Mourinho is involved, obviously).

Burnley was a real hit and run with long ball counter attacks which have been a weakness of ours for years. Subtle signs for me that recent games we have been fighting better for the first and second balls in these aerial duels (we used to pretty much allow head tennis up the pitch to concede) and we rarely cleared our lines properly allowing pot shots from the 2nd ball in the box.

Early days but Matip looks very promising in this regard and he would always be missed in the burnley type games as was the case

I'm not convinced with our new keeper, distribution and confidence look as bad as Mignolet so far and crosses look a worry but I'm all for giving him a chance.
