Allardyce gone

The Football Association has confirmed Sam Allardyce has left his position as England manager by mutual consent.

In a statement, the FA said: "Allardyce's conduct, as reported today, was inappropriate of the England manager.

"He accepts he made a significant error of judgement and has apologised. However, due to the serious nature of his actions, The FA and Allardyce have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect."

ALLARDYCE STEPS DOWN AS ENGLAND MANAGER

Sam Allardyce has left his role as England manager less than three months after taking charge of the Three Lions.

Allardyce and the Football Association have mutually agreed to terminate the 61-year-old's contract in the wake of a sting operation conducted by undercover journalists working for the Daily Telegraph.

On Tuesday a report in The Daily Telegraph claimed Allardyce had told the reporters it was possible to "get around" an FA rule, introduced in 2008, banning third parties from owning part of a player's economic rights.
Report Poppydog. • September 27, 2016 7:52 PM BST
Sam Allardyce: "Further to recent events, the FA and I have mutually agreed to part company.

"It was a great honour for me to be appointed back in July and I am deeply disappointed at this outcome.

"This afternoon, I met with Greg Clarke and Martin Glenn and offered a sincere and wholehearted apology for my actions.

"Although it was made clear during the recorded conversations that any proposed arrangements would need the FA’s full approval, I recognise I made some comments which have caused embarrassment.

"As part of today’s meeting, I was asked to clarify what I said and the context in which the conversations took place. I have co-operated fully in this regard.

"I also regret my comments with regard to other individuals."

The Telegraph began investigating corruption in English football last year after receiving information that specific managers, officials and agents were taking or receiving cash payments to secure player transfers. Over the coming days the Telegraph will detail how:

The assistant manager of a high-profile football club accepted a £5,000 cash “bung”
Ten managers were named by players’ agents as taking bribes to fix player transfers
Two well-known managers discussed becoming ambassadors for the same fictitious firm as Sam Allardyce
Another high-profile manager admitted his players broke FA rules by betting on their own games but he failed to report it
A senior figure at a Premier League club helped undercover reporters to formulate a plan to bribe managers

This is what I just put on my facebook wall, not sure if you'd agree but like to think others on here would

I have a lot of football lovers and followers on my friends list and I am thankful those are ones of such a calibre they are not what I call JCL's. They are proper fans and supporters, not just of their own teams but football in general, some being ambassadors from the grass roots level.

For those that dont know JCL's are Johnny Come Lately's. JCL's are the oens that cant get debenture tickets at Wimbledon, had enough of La Fille mal gardée at the Royal Opera House but yet see the ENO as a cultural downward class step. These JCL's are those that IMHO are ruining the working mans game we all love, they are the ones that now "Love" football, but dont understand or ignore that grassroots game we all grew up with but did so with a team in our hearts, whether premiership or United Counties.
Todays revelations do not surprise me, Allardyce is as bent as a 9 bob note and always has been, I remember when one of my idols George Graham was caught, in essence brown envelope in hand. It Hurt, it ****g hurt. Probably the same as it did for the scousers with Grobbelar. ****Please take a minutes silence before reading on ****

Talking about Grobbelar, how did the POSH fans feel and think after that momentous night with I believe Kimble? That scored against the mighty reds? Did POSH really earn it that night or did they not? Me? I was there and yes they did, but it does take the edge of those David and Goliath Battles.

All the above leeds (

A loan deal involving Cardiff and West Ham United, who were managed by Sam Allardyce at the time, was examined after questions were raised over fees relating to the deal.

An agent is understood to have told the club that a payment had been agreed with Allardyce over the loan of Ravel Morrison, who moved to the Welsh club from West Ham in 2014.

Been a "laughing stock" (Shearer's comment)for quite a few years really.

I mean, are we really serious about our national team

being any good regardless of which halfwit is manager? Allardyce has made a right

pig's ear of his life now but would he really have made us world-beaters? Extremely, doubtful, but I don't think

there's a manager in the world who could do it or would want to do it.

No consistent stream of top class English kids coming through (and those that

do are run into the ground by duff tactics, etc) What a bleedin' mess!

And (ho bleedin' ho) Lineker (amongst others) tweeting about Sam's 100% record.

You don't expect the agent to see anything but the £ signs as he is basically the sales guy but the financial adviser should have been instructed by Allardyce to do due diligence on the outfit making the offer before he went anywhere near meeting them.
