I don't see big scores generally in European competitions. City and Gladbach at home are possible points opportunities and Barcelona aren't averse to having a mare away from home, throw in the possibility of a 4-3 somewhere along the lines and you never know.

I don't rate Celtic at all, but I don't think they are as bad as many people make out. I think people looking at the results against Hapoel Beer Sheva and Astana have underrated those sides massively.

He did pretty much park the bus and play for a 1-0 loss away to Real Madrid as Liverpool manager, showing zero ambition to chase the game even when losing 1-0.

What was laughable was how on BT Sport today they had Celtic in all their toughest groups for the English teams, and were making out like they were a terrible draw for Man City. There is no way Celtic were the best team from pot 4.

they lost to malmo in the play offs last year who ended up with a -20 GD and they won a game !

I can guarantee you from Pot 4, Celtic Park would be the hardest place to win by a country mile, think some people forget Celtics home record in Europe is up there with the best, Rodgers is putting a good team together and you would be foolish to judge them on the latest beer sheva defeat. Celtic could quite easily have won that first leg 7 or 8 nil. The away leg was just enormous pressure on a team that had collapsed the last 2 years in a row, fans of run of the mill english teams have no clue the pressure on Celtic teams in that situation. That was the most difficult game of our season, there is no real pressure on us in the groups as no one expects us to get anything, we will be a very dangerous team at home and I wont be surprised if we take a big scalp in this group.

We are also expecting a marquee signing in the next week, the first team is certain to be strengthened before the groups.

A "marquee signing" for Celtic is the likes of Leigh griffiths who wouldnt even get a game for wolves in league 1. -12 GD

Is mostly from a time when Celtic had better teams. Their home record has gradually got worse as the team has got worse (as you would expect obviously).

Rembember Celtic v Man City is Scotland v England, although with Man City (rest of the world) In any game the Scottish side will fight even harder to not lose to any  club from England.

Nothing bitter wolf3011,not me/us that promote the EPL or English football to be something it is not,I am quite ready to accept that Scotland/Celtic are far removed from the giddy heights of soccer that you are so ready to portray,I to a degree enjoy the EPL but recognise that a helluva lot of it is pretty mundane.We lost a game to a bunch of amateurs it can happen,last night West Ham lost to a team that couldn,t pay their wages last month,for all the zillions spent on the EPL teams they can,t dominate in Europe.

Despite all the money flooding into the EPL the product has got worse in recent years.
The bottom club in the EPL each year gets a payment greater than that of all Scottish clubs combined.
You should be expecting, and getting, more down south.

goal difference might not be massive in this group.

big teams like barca and man city sometimes seem quite happy sitting on a one goal lead against little teams while german teams can  always be dangerous although there is only one top class team in germany. 

even though the SPL is the weakest SPL in history and scottish teams are completely useless when they play foreign opposition, there is always the chance that if one or more of the big teams have already qualified then they will play their second team in the later stages.

Their second teams should still be way better than celtic but whether they will score lots of goals would be a doubt.

presumably last night's result does for General Custer ; he just cannot catch a break

Currently minus 9 with Borussia away next then Barca at the fortress () and finally City in Manchester.
Could be a few in the Borussia and City games but Barca never go full tilt at parkhead so I think minus 16 looking favourite.

Barce and City might have already qualified by games 5 and 6 too, so might rest players.

If, as expected, Borussia beat celtic and City beat Barca that would have them on 9-7-6-1 in the same order they are now.
Barca then will be looking for a result at parkhead.
Any other result for City v Barca means they would be hosting celtic and still in a race.

Only -11 now with an away game to come at Man City who are not fully qualified yet

City have qualified now on H2H with BM , so a weakened team v Celtic  ,but probably not full of academy players.

The Gibraltar team was only 1st qualifying round , they have to win 3 rounds and they were lucky with the draw this year (and still struggled )
