Current List of the Most Overrated Players in the World

Shocking lack of players from the Premier League in this from before this season given the Premier League teams performance levels relative to their hype.

John Stones should be there somewhere anyway, if anyone could explain to me why he's the best defender of his generation, because I just don't get it.

I had Stones 12 and Hulk 11

but took them out as I don't think anyone rates Stones anyway, or Hulk.

most of the players mentioned i have hardly heard a good word about last 2 years , so doubtful they are overrated

I'd say Luke Shaw , £32M , no one questions the fee , general pundit view is he is gonna be automatic choice for England/United next 10 years , maybe had 5 decent games in his career

In mesmerised's cranky distorted thoughts he believes Hazard to be overrated.Simple answer to that is he earned his ratings by giving so many good performances,not by figments of imagination,just by playing great football,and more importantly,keeping himself fit,which is to be admired considering how many times in a match he gets fouled.
  Yes,of course there are many vastly overrated players in the Prem.,but Hazard by no stretch can be included in that category,no matter how much mesmerised hates Chelsea.

Lukaku is one not mentioned yet that has to be up there. The prices talked about for him seem crazy when I'm not really convinced he's any better than Benteke available at half the price.

For years I would have had Yaya Toure on the list, but it seems people have finally come around to the fact now. How many years I would hear about Yaya could be the game changer or will be a big miss when missing for the big games, when invariably he was always the weakness for Man City in these big games.

David Silva for me also could be close to this list. When you think of where Man City have failed to deliver in Europe over the seasons, I always think how Silva one of their perceived game changers has never done it any big game in Europe to my knowledge, I just can't think of him ever taking a game by the scruff of the neck vs good opposition in Europe. Unlike Yaya, he seems to have nearly always avoided criticism for this too.

Ribery another one who seems to belong on this list. Very few big games over the years that I can think of that Ribery really took by the scruff of the neck for someone that was perceived to be a top 5 player in the world at 1 stage.

Agree about Lukaku,rated by ? as a £65m + player,when not really shown a lot.Could possibly improve,but would need to.

Still N°1, looks abject with Messi.

Muller being on this list has to be on the most bizarre inclusions. Rarely rated as that elite by general media. If anything he's underrated.

He's held in high esteem by commentators and pundits who everytime he's mentioned, is compared to Frank Lampard, both read the game well but as footballers are pretty average.

Fronk Ribery has got to be one of the most over-rated players in recent years. I would exclude any English players from a list like this, as ALL England players are over-rated (by us and the media). I support Arsenal and even I would say Ozil is over-rated

He is good though. For someone as good as he is he's barely even mentioned in the world class bracket like many others.

Completely agree with Ribery but didn't include him as nobody has talked about him the last 3 years or so, so no longer consider him over rated. But easily was 5 odd years ago when people were comparing him to Zidane, just because he's French.
