Interesting format, and with anything new Bookies are guessing a bit as to how the teams will match up.
Post has put up Formatine to beat aberdeen U20's but they lost a friendly 6-1 to Peterhead last month.

Superbigal might be the man to give you an idea of where the teams are.

From watching Dunfermline U20's play Junior teams( Kelty, Civil Service,Dundonald and Crossgates) the under 20's can be physically inferior and lose out that way, but technically they play much the better football. Kelty are a top junior team and they were the only ones who beat The  Pars FT u20's.

In this competition it seems no overage players are allowed.

Partick Thistle u20's into around 11/10 from 2/1 this morning, they're away to Clyde.
Clyde 9/4 to 5/4

That's a strange move, especially with Clyde being the home team and the professionals!

Should read Clyde 5/4 to 9/4

There's nothing in their recent results from either team to suggest they odds

This might explain it

The First Round of the IRN-BRU Cup takes place this evening, with Clyde hosting Partick Thistle's under-20 team at Broadwood.

The new-look competition includes under-20 sides from the Premiership, as well as clubs from Wales and Northern Ireland at the later stages.

Barry Ferguson spoke to the official website ahead of the match and he explained that there would be some changes to the starting line-up:-

"We have a few players with niggles and there's no way that I can risk them ahead of Saturday's league match. We gave them a really tough session on Saturday, which was always part of our pre-season plan ahead of the league starting.

"I have to factor all of that into tonight's team. We have a small squad so it's going to be an opportunity for some of the younger players and some of our new under-20 squad to show what they can do. These are players that I expect to be knocking on the door of the first team in the next 12 to 18 months so it's a good opportunity for them to be involved.

"Robbie (Davidson), Michael (McGinty) and Kyle (Ferguson) have already been on the bench for the Betfred Cup matches and have been waiting on a chance to get onto the pitch.

"The under-20s squad is coming together now and we've just got 12 signed up, with a couple more to follow soon, so they are eligible to play tonight for the first time. As we've previously mentioned, these guys are mainly 16 or 17 but we are going to work with them with a view to stepping up to the first team in a year or two."

Kick-off is at the slightly earlier time of 7.30pm. In the event of a draw after normal time, extra time of 30 minutes will take place and, if necessary, penalty kicks.

Yes team news vital, no idea how seriously teams are going to take this competition particularly when some have had 4 games in 12 days in the betfr3d cup.
