Correct, and that would be the greater of two evils imo. Feel sorry for the OP and a really bad break, but I don't see how they can rectify without causing a far greater injustice.

Maybe not rectify, but a free bet or some other small token showing that Betfair acknowledges the problem caused by them should be a given.
