Germans without Hummels (banned), Khedira (injured) and possibly Schweinsteiger, although Low has said that he'll start in place of Khedira.  Mario Gomez out for the tournament.

France have the full 23 to pick from, so suspect it's a simple choice of whether he sticks with the team that tonked Iceland or recalls Rami or Kante or both.

France looked great going forward against Iceland, but Iceland were pretty ordinary and it's not like the French attack will get anything like that amount of room and possession against the Germans.  Yet to be convinced by France defensively and will be interesting to see how they cope with sustained pressure.

Germany look typically German.  Waltzed through the group stages, blitzed Slovakia and ground out qualification against the Italians, despite not playing overly well.  Much may depend on who covers for Hummels and how well he does so.

The Germans tend to turn up when needed and I expected them to be marginal favourites in spite of France's home advantage.  Initial play is Germany to qualify at odds against.

Gomez is a miss, they looked better when he played.

They did.  I suppose there's a few unknowns with the German side, whereas we probably know what we're going to get with France.  Matched at 2.04 now, so happy enough with that.  Looking forward to the match, so might have a bet on 0-0 to ensure that there's at least a goal.

Germany to win on penalties at 9/1 looks fairly tasty.

They drew 1-1 with Italy in their last match.

I guess Germany will revert to back 4 instead of back 3 for this one with Draxler back in, probably Gotze as well, and one of those or Muller will be the false 9

Can't see either team losing a final to Portugal

Germany had to make changes for 2014 world cup final bringing in debutant Kramer against Argentina. Their squad is that strong
whoever they bring in it doesn't matter that much. France are there for the taking. Germany should be favs imo and probably will be after 10 minutes in play

Agreed, james.  Seems inevitable that France will win at a canter now.

The idea that France can beat even a weakened German team is laughable.

The prices are crazy. Still struggling to see why Germany are 2/1 to win the competition. They're head and shoulders above everyone
even with their subs. It's a head scratcher

I don't get it either.  I'm not saying that Germany should be 1.7 or owt, just that they should be favs.  Anyway, I guess we'll know in about four hours or so.

Brazil were at home in the semi final of the world cup 2 years ago, Brazil 1 Germany 7.

I agree with rob as in not saying they should be odds on or anything but 2/1 to win comp seems bizzare. I wouldn't lay evens

over 3.5 here....France score loads but are woeful at the back ...Ze Germans are missing at the back also and can see them definitely scoring at least 1 against that dodgy French defence.

The game has GOALS written all over it.

Oh don't get me wrong Jamesdean I agree, just saying the home factor is likely why the market has them favs

No Kante for France. They're playing Giroud, Griezman and Payet. Plus that Umtoti keeps his place. Think That's far too weak a side to play against the Germans
By:

Umtiti to get taken apart. Cannot believe that starting line up for France, very light weight

Brilliant (and funny!) tweet from Germany team tonight:

Our record against host nations in semi-finals: 6 wins, 1 defeat. Let's make it 7-1 tonight!

Strongly fancy The Hun

have covering bets on both sides extra time and penalties on bet365

France quite exciting going forward but Germany still strong at the back. Quite frankly I would rather shelter from the Germans behind the Maginot line than this French back 4!

Had a quick butchers at the refs form and he seems to like his penos, so I'll have a cheeky back of both teams to score one, backed the Frenchies to win outright at the beginning of tourney @ 4/1, so that is my main interest here. ......

Schweinsteiger to be booked, how the hell he's playing god knows he's long gone at the game he's bound to get caught out with lack of pace

don't know why but I fancy Moussa Sissoko to score. don't think Germany will be able to deal with his pace and unpredictability - they'll be keeping eyes on Payet Griezmann and Pogba
