Whilst all eyes are on the qf between Portugal and Poland the bookies seem to have priced up another match totally wrong.

Just why are Infonet 14/1 against Hearts in the europa league tonight?

Infonet are 2nd top of their league, 1 point behind the leaders. W 12 D 3 L 2. They're half way through their league so still fit, they played just last week
winning 3-1. Hearts haven't played for 7 weeks! No way they can be match fit after such a lay off. Even if they were fit which they won't be, are they really 1/4 shots and 14/1 for the away side. Is the SPL really that much better than the Estonian league?
Remember Hearts were in the 1st division just 1 season ago. They're hardly a force.

Tallin have spent a fair bit in the last two years and are full of experience with players who have played at International level with Estonia and Russia.

At 14/1 on here they have to be worth a cheeky fiver

It really is a toss up, could go either way. Just think the prices are way wrong

Here's a bit from the Hearts manager. Doesn't sound too confident or happy with the time they've had

The Hearts squad only had four weeks off before returning for pre-season training, but Neilson believes the short break means that they returned in relatively fit state.

He believes it will take four or five games for them to gain full match sharpness, but is confident they can progress through the first round to face either Siroki Brijeg of Bosnia or Birkirkara of Malta in the second qualifying round.

"They'll be ready." he told BBC Scotland. "It's early in pre-season and it's not the best of preparation you could have because it's such a short turnaround, but we have to be prepared.

"They've invested a lot in the last couple of years. They've brought in a lot of international players, from Estonia and Russia, so there's experience there.

Hearts were extremely undervalued when the odds were released. Unfortunately I missed the early prices.

To put thing's into prospective, Levadia, who top Infonet's League, are currently drawing 1-1 at home to HB Torshavn from the Faroe isles. Not having a got at the bet here, just adding another opinion and balancing up the argument. Happy

Joe. You've not mentioned the prices once.

Nobody is denying Hearts should win or be favs.

If they played each other 14 times with the same players at their fitness just now, do you think Tallin would win any of the 14 games?

i dont know why they dont play summer football in scotland, theyd be more prepared for these games but thatd be small fry compared to the other benefits.

the pitches would be in decent condition, the weather would be better, theyd probably get a bit of sky money seen as all theyve got over the summer is county cricket and youth rugby, itd be better for the fans.  the rest of the northern european countries do it.

mind you if you were a regular at a scottish club the thought of sitting through the long dark winters with no football on doesnt bare thinking about.

the days where spl clubs had to worry about all the top players going off to play at big championships are long gone and are not comin gback.

Confused 'At this level'  = the level of teams who's European season is in June and July . Scottish teams are stupidly short odds year after year ,hardly any of them are still around in September. How does Malmo being much stronger than Infonet make what i am saying wrong ? The SPL champions are much stronger than Hearts aren't they

Report clacherholiday2 July 1, 2016 3:47 AM BST
last year i think a scottish side went out to a side from armenia, being match fit is massive no matter the difference in quality.  when fully fit the scottish sides could probably trounce them but hearts and aberdeen have only played 1 match each before tonight, the 14/1 was crazy odds.

Hearts were probably the right price. They opened at around 1.7 which was great value.

No Idea about Aberdeen.

Report milla445 July 1, 2016 3:12 PM BST
Unlucky JD, anyone see what price Infonet went down at 0-1?

On another night we could easily have put 6 or 7 past the Luxemburgers. I don't think I've ever seen so many stramashes in a single game, which we just couldn't batter in. And the 7 minutes of IT were very kind to them, their physio got a lot of pitch time. You could see how they managed to get a draw away against Dinamo Zagreb last season, very organised.

The prices for the early rounds are mostly guesswork, not many people are experts at Estonian or Luxembourg football.

I can't remember specific prices, but I wouldn't say Scottish teams are 'stupidly' short every year. Suppose it depends on your definition of stupid though.
Report jamesdean July 1, 2016 3:32 PM BST
They were around the 3 (2/1) mark just before Hearts scored the equaliser.

It's getting teeams who are fit at this stage of the season against ones who are not.

Remember Brataslava gave Celtic 5 in first leg cl years ago. They were a terrible team but had a fitness edge over Celtic. We beat the 4 in 2nd leg but went out. With no disrespect to Aberdeen/Hearts etc but you couldn't be confident backing them against anybody at any time never mind pre season at 1/4 in Europe.

Hibs play in 2 weeks time. Be interesting to see who they get as they are even worse than the 2 teams mentioned above.
Report milla445 July 1, 2016 3:37 PM BST
I could - although I'm biased Laugh

Aye, McGinn was a standout last night, I'm sure his NI adventure this month had a lot to do with that.

Hibs will get Brondby in the next round, unless Valur overturn a 4-1 home loss, so that'll be a quick end to their campaign.

Can't really speak for Hearts, since I know nothing about Infonet bar the occasional bored mug punt every now and then, but Aberdeen should be too good for Fola in the second leg, we were much better than them all over the pitch last week.

I'd be careful though, remember with a two goal lead we don't need to win, and McInnes certainly isn't the most attack-minded manager we've ever had. I'll certainly be waiting for team news and there'll definitely be safer bets about.

Not that I like talking Infonet down, but there's a massive gulf between these two sides.

Apart from Harin's goal which was excellent, Infonet shouldn't really have been in the match. Now Infonet may get something and I hope they do, but the prices are completely wrong here.
