we said before the start he left behind the battlers who handled the pressure to win the league and he filled the team up with second rate divers from the team that bottled it big time in the league

when rooney dies or retires can we please do without the usual polite obituaries? can we just remember him as the biggest useless choker ever to wear an England shirt?

Look at the career of Rooney, classic ingerland
Comes on the scene as a teenager, looks a world beater, someone around whom to build a world cup winning team
Flucks off to Man Utd, acts like a spoiled brat, goes around kicking anything that moves, gobbing off at refs who never ever have the nuts to show him the gazillion red cards he rightly deserves. Because Rooney is the great white hope.
Has to play second fiddle to a portuguese kid who works at his game and doesnt abuse his body and does go on to become the best player in the world.
Rooney is the once and future chav king of english football.
Its all about talent. Isnt it?
Dont need intelligence or a brain just let Wayne get on with it
You dont need thinkers in english football do we?
Dont need people who read newspapers like the times or even the daily mail
But now the party is over
The drop back to midfield has not shown him as an english xavi, or even a joe allen
Probably he will go back to Man U, win a few games under Mourinho and all the hosannahs from the incredibly fickle english media will rain down on rooney again.
But he cant really do it can he..

Rooney was hugely talented in 2004, and for more than a few years thereafter, despite his boxer's physique and his penchant for a 60 ciggies a day in Las Vegas pools lifestyle. That was unsustainable for a supposed athlete who should have seen the red flags raised by Ricky Hatton's ill-discipline. Also, he has gone the same way as Michael Owen in refusing to develop his game to have more strings to his bow which would enhance and extend his career. He is now belatedly trying to reincarnate himself as a midfielder without the requisite positional sense or understanding of the role. That should embarass him whilst drawing his £300k a week salary but it appears to have skewed his moral compass. Sadly, his wealth has probably undone any imminent career sunset, in somehere like China, so his regression will continue to unravel in the UK unless Mourinho can somehow get shot of him.

Problem is (for United fans anyhow) is that Mourinho seems to love himCry

I am going to say this
And I am right so don't bother to argue.
It is all Man Utd fault and that p0xy flucker fergus
Had Rooney stood at Everton he would have learned humility, learned what it was to play in a team that is often up against it, as England often are.
Instead he goes to a team who play dreadful ref baiting counter attacking football dominating against teams who are barely of current championship standard.
He learns nothing.
I can think off the top of my head about half a dozen times when seriously bad fouls he committed were overlooked by referees simply because he played for Fergus and was the supposed great white hope of ingerlund
Including two  FA cup 3rd round matches in successive years against Leeds and Crawley, lower div teams who showed up Fergus and Man U for what they were. Each occasion after a stunningly inept showing from Rooney he decided to launch horrific studs up fouls on players on barely 1% of his wages, threatening their careers and livelihoods. For which he got barely a yellow card.
Roy Keane in his latest book stated that he thought Rooneys attitude at Man U paled into comparison with the work rate of Ronaldo.
If you england fans want shot of Rooney, then you could do worse than Keane as manager...

You can tell how shiit Rooney is, all the other teams let him have the ball in midfield didn't even bother closing him down. They know he has no pace, dribbling skills and no passing ability to hurt teams.

Rooney got the hump with Fergie when he played him in Midfield saying he wasn't a midfielder but a centre forward. Fast forward and he tells Hodgson he wants to play in midfield(no doubt gave him some bluff excuse but we all know it was because he knew he wouldn't get in ahead of Kane and Vardy). So you have your Captain just doing what is best for himself and a manager allowing it. And you wonder why your team looks heartless.

Rooney has to be the most hated player in football
even Man U fans cant stand him
All those studs up fouls, gobbing off at refs, the tabloid carry ons, the contract hold outs and of course the pitiful under achievement at international level.
What exactly is in the credit column?
5 epl titles, equating with what Olympiacos do in greece every year plus one of the more fortunate ucl wins you are likely to see.
In fact the only rivals in the flukey european cup wins are the other one fergus won in 99 plus LFC in 05 and chels in 2012.
The state of english footbal..
shocking.
