Chile beat them on penalties to win Copa America last year and they have been brilliant again this year, but can't see them beating the Argies in tonight's final. Evens on Messi and co looks a fantastic bet.

Less pace and more composure and goals will surely follow. As it is, I'm just gonna wait for someone to break the deadlock first. Argentina looking the more likely at the moment, but they have a dodgy goalkeeper, so... Mischief

Can't fault Higuaín myself, because he's scored plenty of goals for me in the Serie A. But the commentator has mentioned it before that he's missed plenty of opportunities in "big games" in recent years, like the World Cup 2014 and some other final I can't remember.

But knowing they have Agüero as well, you do wonder what the manager's thinking.

the sad thing is if that bellend had taken the one on one we'd have had a goalfest. now nothing but nervousness from argentina when they get a chance. wee man can't pass the ball or find his foot when he gets a chance. best chance for them is a set piece goal

Report ewood June 27, 2016 4:04 AM BST
Argentina midfield hardly ever ventured out of their own half in the 2nd half & Messi was picking up the ball near the halfway line & trying to beat 5 or 6 red shirts with often no support. Argentina unwilling to push up the pitch. Would of thought that penalties was the last thing they wanted yet they did little about it.

Report johnnyrant June 27, 2016 9:28 AM BST
Personally, feel very sorry for the Argies. Messi was fouled time and time again last night. Very little protection from the ref. Vidal should have been sent off too. They have lost 3 recent Copa finals on pens. Messi has lost 3 Copa finals. They lost the WC final late on in extra-time. They have had a glorious generation of footballing talent for over 20 years, going back to Maradona, Caniggia, Batistuta, Redondo… & yet only have the 1993 Copa to show for it and a couple of Olympic golds. I question the coach when he leaves Garay out of his squad & leaves Javier Pastore, a class midfielder, on the bench for the entire Copa. I hope Messi changes his mind about retirement and goes to the WC in Russia in 2 years. England fans think Eng have had bad luck in terms of penalty shoot-out losses in major tournaments. Think Argie fans have more reason to feel hard done by.
Report clacherholiday2 June 27, 2016 2:17 PM BST
half the argentina squad have said theyre packing it now.

messi look completely crushed yesterday, its no surprise.
Report ewood June 27, 2016 2:48 PM BST
Think Messi will eventually change his mind. He wouldn't be the first to be hasty when speaking moments after a disappointment. Think he'll carry on to the next World Cup & there will be a few others who will do the same when they know Messi is staying. If you were being cynical, you could say his talking about retirement has quickly got people talking about something else and not his penalty miss or another Argentina failure.
Report Rider June 27, 2016 2:53 PM BST
its easy for us sitting at home commenting on players but it cannot be easy, messi single handedly carries the hopes and dreams of his country thats a lot of pressure, if he has retired then thats good news for barca, not only to prolong his career but also to rest during those energy sapping wc qualifiers that probably cost barca the CL last season
