Ecuador are generally very strong at home where they play at altitude, but are usually hopeless away from home. They did win 2-0 in Argentina in the current qualification group, don't know if that was a freak result or whether they are genuine contenders though?

They groups for WC 2016 mean sh1t until the last 5-6 games

WC 2018 *
Argie or Chile to win it again imo ,Unless Mexico have taken a team that can compete they have about 5-6 different sides |
|
By:
Argie always start slow in WC qualifiers then they start using their top team , i Think Messi has only played a few games out the 6 so far. They don;t need to win every game.

Messi got injured in a friendly last week and will miss out on the first group matches.
It wont matter much, higuain was superb that night and aguero will be leading the line at the competition, should get through easily. I mentioned Mexico in another thread, theyre taking a very strong squad with them, about as strong as it can be. Whenever they play in America its like a home match, there will be 30k mexicans at every game. If argentina were over 3/1 I'd be on them to win but at only 2/1 you have to look down towards USA and Mexico for the next best, Chile I wouldve included but after watching them lose 2-1 at home to Jamaica the other night I have no confidence in them at all. Brazil are a joke and will probably lose 7-1 to Germany in the semi final, Suarez missing the start of the tournament for Uruguay is a huge problem for them. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/copa-america/copa-america-2016/top-goalscorer javier hernandez 33/1 ![]() |

By:
Is Suarez a miss for Uruguay? Seem to remember they won 3-0 in Colombia without him
Usually I'd be interested in the Copa, but the whole thing seems a bit of a joke. Why is it a year after the last one? Why should any of the big guns care? Agree about Mexico though. They can give any side a game, and unlike normally happens, they've taken a proper team |

We're still waiting on that nerds opinion the OP was looking for. Where is Mega88 anyway? Will a clueless, potless nerd suffice, OP?

Starts tonight, USA v Columbia.
really tough match but looking forward to the late night games coming up, tired of watching dross this past fortnight. |
|
By:
i wonder how we'd come out at the end of the tournament if we level staked the draw on every game
|

Why is it a year after the last one?
It's the 100th anniversary of the first one |

Really looking at this USA side, it could be their weakest squad for a while, I dont think that will translate into getting beat every game but I sure as hell wont be backing them against anyone.
35 degrees in san jose california todaym at least they learned their lesson from the 1994 world cup where the played games in roasting heat in the middle of the day |
|
By:
The majoity of games were played in the middle of the day during the '94 World Cup in order to cater to the European TV audiences
|
|
By:
ive a few bets in mind for this later but i wont be able to do anything until nearer kick off when i see whos starting, really looking forward to it.
columbia comfortably the better side but the yanks will go out and die on the pitcj for a result, the prices are all about right, a diplomatic draw could be on the cards. depends how the USA line up, if they go with just one up top ill be all over the draw. |

This section about the travelling distances is excellent, i wonder how much of a factor that plays with the teams. there must be past tournaments we can look at to see if its affected results?
|
|
By:
I'm glad to see them mention Mexico and Hernandez, I was looking to back both on price alone but these guys reaosning is sound.
Carlos Bacca is a guy I've won backing a few times this year, I'm plannign to do something with im in tonights game but I guess outright top scorer isnt crazy. |
|
By:
their reasoning is pretty solid and in depth for everything. they had a good one for the last wc and it predicted an arg v ger final. no the most unpredictable thing i suppose. they sell software for football and give these guides out for free to plug it. never tried the software

I'm hoping for a Goals Goals Goals Tournament, starting with the usa game, ht score 2-0 2-1 2-2 1-2 0-2 1-1 auq, also correct score 3-2 2-3 3-3 auq, over 3.5 and 4.5 good luck xxx

Just paid the £11.99 subs to Premier Sports to watch Copa America games....was about to ask if anyone else had done the same & how long it took to get access to the channel but its come on within couple of minutes

By:
Argentina can't not be the clear favourites given the strength of their squad - but needless to say that their lack of cohesion, chemistry and generally crap defence means that they're quite capable of mucking it all up.
|
|
By:
Theyre easily the best side and should be coming into this as World Cup winners but the price is too short.
That pdf above with the travel info could play a role, finishing 2nd in their group gives them far better chances later i nthe tournament. |

Clacher, what do you think of the US team attacking wise?? Is this a more positive Klinsmann side than usual?
|
|
By:
looks the same 433 they set up with in their friendlies tbh. depends how stuffy they want to make the midfield
|
|
By:
Always been a goal man and think this will produce them, well I hope they will. Unquoted HT Score, Heavy ovrs and tapered down to 4.5
|

By:
Gone both teams to score...think evens is reasonable price
