Tony Xia of the Recon Group estimated worth 350 billion.
Who is Dr Tony Xia?
He is the owner of Recon Group, a holding company that has the controlling interest in five publicly listed companies on the Hong Kong and Chinese stock exchanges, employing 35,000 people in 75 countries.
Xia played football until he finished at college and the sport has remained his passion. He became a Villa fan "many years ago", according to the club's statement, and is "delighted" to become its owner.
What are his objectives?
His first target is to return Villa to the Premier League. After that, he intends to lead the club into the top six, bringing European football back to Villa Park.
He also plans to make Villa the most famous football club in China with a huge fanbase.
Make hay whilst it lasts Man City, Arsenal etc. These guys are SERIOUS.

Pretty meaningless. Need to find the players that will get them get them out of the Championship first before talking about world domination.
Tony is THE man in China.. If Wang Jianlin is THE man to know if you're into hotels and shopping malls. Tony Xia is THE man to know for everything else including space programs

its about 9.5 Chinese Yuan to the Pound , 350 billion Chinese Yuan is about 36.5 billion Pound - buying villa is an odd choice.
He's worth less than city's owners ffs.
Works differently in China they are state run...the guy has access to as much money as he wants that much is clear....and the last time I checked China is a considerably richer country than the UAE.

We wanted someone who is going to really take this so seriously they are determined to deliver and achieve the ultimate accolades in football for Aston Villa.
The one thing that really helped us in getting behind the Tony Xia bid is the scale of the ambition he has.
If you look at Tony Xia's business career in China, he has been instrumental in the regeneration and the building of over 60 of the new cities and relocating 500 million people into the urban areas.
He has shared with us his ambition in football, his ambition for Aston Villa Football Club, his ambition for the Aston area as a part of the city of Birmingham - frankly it is inspirational.
If he delivers on what he shared with us, it is going to be a great journey over the next few years.

oh how I would love to meet the obnoxious Doug Ellis again. He came to Burton back in 1996 with Andy Townsend and the League Cup, and we were celebrating our local FA's centenary. When I was looking at the trophy he asked me who I supported, he was taken aback because it was not one of the big clubs and he started with snide remarks about I would probably never see a real trophy again.
