In the week Hillsboro was in the news !!
The Basle Final ground holds just 34,000
Lpool been allocated 9,000 tickets
So if the non-lpool 25,000 others turn up and Lpool take around 30/40,000 to final as usual
Incl the British  Army troops in Germany -- who pour over into the final --as has happened at other finals --
where are they all going to fit ?? Except squashed in !!!!
The ground is too small !!!! A disaster waiting to happen !!
DO UEFA NEVER LEARN !!!!

eh? it's an all seater, so the ones with tickets are going to fit into their seats, the one's without will be in the bars outside and all around.

I think it holds 38/39000.
Too small for a final though.

9,000 for each club = 18,000
capacity 38,000
20,000 cooperate tickets?

Disgrace...ruined the atmosphere last year

tenpins they had it at Cariff City the other season it's not too small for a Europa League final UEFA will say....I think they should choose the stadium when the final is known!

Cardiff City was only the Super Cup.

It is an inadequate capacity for sure. Most of the corporate tickets will end up with touts.

i don't know why they don't use 2 grounds - one for away supporters and one for home .

novel idea eh ?

Hartlepool could have hosted a Shaktar - Villarreal final.

They can't play Europa finals in stadiums much bigger because they want the biggest and best stadiums reserved for Champions League finals.

Champions League finals

16 - Milan - 80,000
15 - Berlin - 77,000
14 - Lisbon - 65,000
13 - Wembley - 90000
12 - Munich - 75,000
11 - Wembley - 90,000
10 - Bernabeu - 85,000
09 - Rome - 70,000
08 - Moscow - 84,000
07 - Athens - 71,000
06 - Paris - 81,000

Europa League/UEFA finals.

16 - Basel - 39,000
15 - Warsaw - 58,000
14- Turin - 45,000
13 - Bucharest - 55,000
12 - Amsterdam - 53,000
11 - Dublin - 51,000
10 - Hamburg - 57,000
09 - Istanbul - 55,000
08 - Manchester - 53,000
07 - Glasgow - 51,000
06 - Eindhoven - 35,000

Those are the capacity figures for the respective stadiums but the actual attendance is always lower because of UEFA rule on matches played in Europe, this is one of the smaller ones they've used and will be lower than 39,000, probably around 35,000 people.

Stephen Warnock was interviewed about it on 5Live this morning. When asked about the 10k ticket allocation he replied "they'll find a way"

A nervous laugh from him, silence from presenters and quickly moved on to next guest

They want demand to vastly outstrip supply so all the UEFA cronies and "partners" can make a killing selling their tickets to genuine fans.

well then thebitterbighter, do u think that manure will still slip into the CL via the backdoor?

Or have u now given up hope that Arsenal and Citeh will fall during the final hurdles?

Liverpool fans are like a well organised bunch of scouts, law abiding and saintly, they would`nt dream of charging the turnstiles, all those dead Italians, they didn't need to run away towards that wall, the saintly Liverpool fans just wanted to shake hands and wish them well

Agree just because it's Liverpool doesn't mean they are all going to try and get into the ground and wreck the place.

If you've got a ticket, you'll go to get in. If you don't, you'll just drink outside!

This isn't the 1980's.

i remember working outside hampden park in glasgow about 10 years ago, was the day of the uefa cup final between espanyol and sevilla, you couldnt get within eyesight of the ground without having to be on foot and even 5 hours before KO the police were asking us if we had tickets or some other good reaosn to be there.

its not as if thousands of liverpool fans will be able to rush the turnstyles or security gates, they wont get within 500 meters of them.

switzerland isnt in the same league as moscow was for an expensive final but its sure going to be pricey enough to keep the dregs out.  klopp may well be right in saying liverpool fans living in the area might come to the city but youd think being ex-pats in that neck of the woods theyd have absorbed some level of decency even with a drink in them.

if they were playing a big italian, german or french side i could maybe see why uefa might not want fans to travel but the only sevilla fans that will be heading there will be the 10k that have tickets.  youre not going to get a situation where theres 40,000 napoli, lyon or leverkusen fans hanging around the city
