not even follow the english league this year i thought man city where on top of standings

chavski only won once away from home all season and were backed to 2.26!

its n ot a flash in the pan because they were playing top 4 football from xmas last season ,thats a calendar season in football terms

from april onwards won 7 of last 9. they were still losing pretty much every week before then

okey dokey ,but if you could add them 7 out of 9 onto this season i,d deffo have a few bob on them winning the lg this season, remember the days when the loons fergie ,wenger etc said you could only afford to lose 3 in a season,some of the so called top sides lose 3 in a month these days

probably gonna need at least 75 points even in this extremely sub standard season. still find it hard to see them getting more than about 65

leicester have done very well but vardy should have seen straight red last night for tackle on costa

doesnt often go to the end, but depends on your fixtures at the death ,teams in ch lg, fa cup on the beech and if it means upsetting the elite will the diddle of the road sides safe from the drop be putting it all in to help the likes of city and arsenal topple the minows,everyone should get behind lec bit like stevie brucie bending over for fergie in the past

i think if the season ran from jan 1st to dec 31  Leicester by now would be crowned champions possibly

I'm not going through any more, but that paints Leicester in an incredibly sustained high position.

Darlo -Arsenal a big surprise for me slipping under the radar ,and only this spring most of the fans on Wengers back

Yep Arsenal winning the League would be a bigger shock than Leicester winning the League

Whatever happens i see hope for a more exciting EPL future.
Leicester have broken the tedious old boys monopoly that has ruled over English football for so long.  Next season who knows? amybe an Everton or a Stoke taking over that baton.

At Liverpool a simple football man has become coach.  A man who understands the impo of the r/s btw fans and players, btw club and community.
The mid to lower ranking teams don't have to doff their caps and bend over every time a bigger club comes calling for their best players. More signs that things are changing.

Leicester prob. won't win it but next season i can see about 10 clubs in with a chance of a top 4 finish next season. Here's to a mew dawm.

O ye of tunnel vision hft.  All i know is i am tired of the same teams running English football and the b.s they come out with to excuse poor play.

Man C have not done well in the CL cos they are too inexperienced no mention of billions spent on players.

Man U must get used to not winning trophies says Van Gaal.  Apparently he said this with a straight face despite spending about £250m it goes on and on.

A limited team will win the EPL this season why not Leicester? things will become even more open next season and i dont see many genius managers out there that will guarantee success for the bigger teams.

A freak season and good luck to Leicester but if you look at their managers record he has form for improving a team when he takes over and then it is usually a little downhill..

If you seriously think Stoke or Everton could ever be "in the mix" then you should seek help..

problem for small clubs is they get a great cammarderie  and then their players get poached  - Vardy will be off in no  time .

Blackburn were the last small club to win the title and it will stay  like that for years to come unless the bottom falls out of the game - which is most likely imo

Unfortunately I totally disagree. There have been many teams who have challenged the top four. Everton, Bolton, Boro, Stoke, Ipswich, Sunderland, Villa, but few of them have been able to break into that bracket. Leicester at the moment, are simply just another team on that list. Until they can sustain it over the course of more than a season.

this is quite something . Tricky ties to come for Leicester but when was the last team so unfancied  top the table like this at Christmas .

Were Norwich in the early 90s so unlikely  ?  or are we talking about the Brian Clough era  ?

I'd say Norwich's finish was very unlikely. Their previous five finishes were 14th, 4th, 10th, 15th and the previous season 18th. They were right up for the title until the last few weeks of the season.

Though it's probably Clough's Derby in 1975 when such an unlikely side won the title.

Forest 1978 even.

Arsenal 89 was a huge shock.  Most thought they'd never win the league again.

Forest were the most unlikely of all time i'd have to say  - having finished  3rd in the second  tier  and scraped promotion  -   they were probably tipped for instant relegation

sagefrom , didn't Blackburn start the season with Jack  Walkers new money buying some star players ?  -not sure on that .  They still would have beena  good price mind  with MU as strong favourites i'm guessing .

Blackburn were the previous year's runners-up and 4th the year before that. Were far from surprise winners.

Weren't they the first team ever to avoid relegation having been bottom at Christmas? Hence the second part is redundant anyway.

i saw the other day that Leicester played a league match with Yeovil in April 2014 and 20 months later Leicester were top of Premier League and Yeovil bottom of League 2

Being a Leicester supporter, player atm must be like being on the most natural high ever.  Higher than any drug could take you.  Top of the league, top goalscorers, playing attacking football and,for the older vintage, always looking forward to motd.

I am a Leicester fan ! Just absolutely unbelievable at what is happening ! Always been a yo-yo club,had a bit of success under O'neill . Stuck in the Championship for a few years and even went down to league 1 for a season ffs. Fantastic when got promotion a couple of seasons ago. The Owner was quoted as saying want to be a top 5 club within 3 seasons, I thought don't say things like that because it sounds embarrassing, especially when we was losing week in week out last season. Then the great escape happened and we kept winning and amazingly stayed up. And now we have just carried on where we left off last season.We keep getting results so it might just be possible .

wish i could remember the ties, but i think Reading beat 2 in et.

I can't even remember who was at home, just recalled Reading beating us on the way to the final. Crazy how one of our great sides did so well in the league and several cups, yet never reached the same pinnacle as two (very) different sides 10 and near-30 years down the line.

I feel for the poor souls (tea lady, window cleaner etc) who lost all their hard earned dosh when they went into admin 10 years ago. Wonder how they feel now
