Good Morning all. Just a quick thread and only thoughts on the non league participation.
I was on early on the week with my main bet at 2/1 Paddy Power. Much shorter now with best price 6/4. Falkirk 3rd in the Scottish championship against Fraserburgh 9th in the Highland League. Falkirk would have landed the hcap (-2) in 3 of their last 5 league games let alone against a team mid table in the highland league. This really should be a mismatch. The 1/5 (Was 1/4) available for the win is buying money and far better value than many 1/4 shots. Stirling Albion 8/15 home to Cumbernauld Colts Stirling on a cracking run of form in Scottish League 2 play the newcomers Cumbernauld. Their close neighbours born from a community club and parachuted into the lowland league. They are on a good 9 game unbeaten run themselves. Looking at the squads though you find the visitor field a number of Stirling rejects. This should be a comfortable enough home win. Lothian Thistle 13/8 away to Huntly. Great value for todays line. Thistle from the EOS league cost us all dear in round 2 by disposing of Junior superleague east champs Kelty 3-0. They then proceeded to beat League 2 side Montrose after a replay. I think you normally only get one chance so to win after drawing at home was impressive. Huntly from the Highland league are managerless and have lost their last 9 league games in a trot. Sandwiched was a suprise elimination of East Stirling in round 3. That shock has given us these decent odds. These 3 matches are the subject of my bets for today. Arguably the most interesting tie is Wick 11/10 v Linlithgow Rose 5/2 I think there will be goals in this game. Too many markets to digest on this one for now. Heading out for young lads swimming lesson. So maybe more later. |

forget the exotics today - simply back cove rangers to win...not so much excitement as a 10 fold accumulator but money in the bank.

I have to agree with Bigal. When I sent prices to McBookie earlier in the week I had Lothian Thistle at 4/5.
I also have Linlithgow at Evens. |

IMO Linlithgow should be favourites for this game
Lothian I agree with Al they also should be favs |

Following the Jocks here as good track record and only the McBookie factor stopped me betting on these matches here in West London.
Went to my local Billys two rounds ago and attempted to place a bet on a Big Al tip - the reaction of the staff was similar to being confronted by an armed robber. ![]() ![]() |

Well that was a good night.
Good news about the game that killed us on Saturday at Huntly and the subsequent replay. It appears watching the highlights and reading reports that the pitch was like a cow field. Lothians passing game was totally mucked up and the up and at em highlanders controlled early proceedings. They were very physical and direct and adapted better to the conditions. The goal if higher profile would have been shown over and over again. Low shot to the Lothian keepers right. Hit a divot a foot in front of him and flew over his hands. Second half belonged to the visitors who were also robbed of a late penalty with the offending "diver" sent of for simulation (2nd Yellow). The good news is the replay has been venue changed from Saughton to Spartans (Ainslie Park) and onto a spanking 4G pitch. Football should do the talking this week. I am tempted to wade in to back Lothian on the Hcap (-1) 9/5 or even (-2) 4/1. Also small stakes on (-4) at 25s. The weather and potential 50mph south westerly gale force winds tempers me getting stuck in early though. If both teams are playing with a gale at their back for 45 minutes I need to know. Am currently researching. |

On google street view now and appears to be a north south facing ground. Little shelter from the wind so will have to have a think about this.
