In a similar vein , 7/1 bottom 3 on 1st September is over priced too , can see Watford doing a surprise factor , and nicking a point in our 1st game back , cant see them getting many more in the next 3 games

The Everton fans that I speak to reckon that Watford are nailed on for three points in that fixture.
They have no confidence in their team or the Manager... |

Didn't know your mum was an Everton fan HFT.

I dont see what the fuss is about
Squad has plenty of quality to be nowhere near a relegation battle howard Baines, Coleman, Stones, hibbert barkley, cleverley, gibson, barry, barkley, pienaar, lennon, osman lukaku |
|
By:
i think if we see hibbert playing again , 6/1 will be a big price
|

Has McCarhty gone, Zazu?
Best player they have /had, for me. |

lennon?

plenty of worse sides than everton in the premier league, though I agree Martinez is a terrible manager, bournemouth, watford and sunderland to fall through the trapdoor, west ham at a larger price isa interesting me the most though

|

everton will not go down...
far too many worse teams than them, sunderland & newcastle for starters |
|
By:
660/1 Before i would consider it. lol
|
|
By:
Never said that the once proud toffees would go down just that 66/1 is far too big and they will be in the mix.
I can agree with the poster that West Ham will go close and will have a saver at about 7/1.. There are some shockingly bad run teams such as Leicester Newcastle and Sunderland but I will take a chance... |
|

Not too big at all. Fair price. Everton have a fair bit of quality. Think Newcastle will do alright this year. A couple of decent signings already in and it looks like Cahrlie Austin is going there as well. I expect them to finish 10-14th place.

I have no faith whatsoever in our manager but certainly think we have the players to finish top 10.
Potential back four of Baines, Coleman, Jagielka and Stones. Midfield from McCarthy, Barry, Cleverley, Besic, Osman, Barkley, Mirallas, Deulofeu. Should Lukaku get injured (as he is currently), a back-up of only Kone and Naismith is worrying. My other worry is our coaching methods. Nineteen hamstring injuries last season and four/five already in three pre-season games. Cannot be down to bad luck. |
|

as a scouser whos family and friends are evertonians..I can tell you they have no worrys about relegation..(evertons home form will keep them in middle table)they are worried about the lack of new players..and injurys..but relegation?..no way.

66/1 isn't too big - should be much more
they have no Europa League this year and will be top eight if they steer clear of injuries |

I missed Borini off my list. Can't help but think they're significant and that if a deal isn't already pending they're being told they have no future here. As an aside, and purely because I can't be arsed raising the relegation thread, what's people's thoughts on Everton to go down? Delofeu's potentially a good signing though he was apparently poor last year, while Cleverley isn't any kind of improvement on what they have. Father time keeps ticking on the likes of Howard, Jagielka, Baines and Barry yet they all still seem integral to the team. Meanwhile, teams around them such as Newcastle, Stoke, Palace, Villa, West Ham and Swansea are all strengthening some with eye catching players. There's still half a dozen teams at least who are very much worse than them but at 66/1 I can't help but be tempted. |

As a blue I've just tried to have £360 with bet vik on us to finish in the bottom half @ 11/4 and after a couple of minutes was offered £100 @ 9/4 (unbelievable !)
After chatting with CS, agent Kaine managed to get me £100 @ 11/4 Buying money - Martinez is so out of his depth its not true |
|
By:
That is theft toffee87 as they cannot finish in the top half.
Having said that why would they not take a bet to lose a grand... Unbelievable. Something tells me something has to happen tonite with those alleged "bookmakers"... |

^I reckon the early season could be a struggle for them and I like that bet. I like Martinez but he is very dogamtic about his system and it doesnt fit alot of his players. He needs to adapt a bit or else Everton could have the same problems as last year.

they wont be relegated. but agree they will shorten. picking my fantasy team there and apart from the first game i wont be having a single everton player until november. novemeber/december they have the best run of fixtures in the league but until then they will be fighting for every point

I've lumped on Watford (h) no gimme Soton (a) no chance City (h) no chance Spurs (a) no chance that 7/1 could be the bet of the season followed by 16/1 Martinez 1st out of the door because I wont put up with poor results and the even worse football that was on offer from Martinez last season |

I can just imagine you watching the Tottenham game on the last Saturday in August praying that we don't get an equaliser in the last minute to take us into 17th place. With friends like you etc........ |

Thanks everyone for posting on my behalf.
My main bet is on Leicester earlier in the summer at 9/2 but the cat's well and truly out the bag with them. I can't disagree that there are worse teams than Everton and I'm not saying they should be among the faves, I just think 66/1 is value. They haven't strengthened their squad, which has several ageing first teamers while reliable back-ups like Osman, Pienaar and Hibbert( ) look just about finished. Added to that their manager has form for relegation and they have a tricky start to the season and if they're in the bottom 3 or thereabouts at the start of September they could find it difficult to climb out. |

The triannual "Everton to get relegated" thread. People confusing a big price with value. Would be interested to hear which six of the following teams will finish above Everton: Watford, Norwich, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Leicester, Villa, West Brom, Newcastle.

Homefortea....are you Derek Mac govern of the daily Liverpool fc mirror, have a word with yourself , its about as likely to happen as Liverpool winning the league. No I am not Derek but wish that I had his cash... Everton FC are a declining force and may be relegated.. 66/1 was a good price as was Wayne Rooney to be Top Premiership goalscorer at 16/1... Making a profit with the advertised sc um is all about taking the top price... |

7/1 bottom 3rd sept is the bet.First match factor v the hornets then a horrid fixture list. I'm a blue and have no fears we'll drop but the price may give a trade early doors though I doubt any more than a reasonable free bet will get squeezed. My best bets this year? Stoke top ten, forest relegation.

Nobody willing to say which six of these dross outfits will finish above Everton? Can a case even be made for a single one of them to do so? Watford, Norwich, Bournemouth, Sunderland, Leicester, Villa, West Brom, Newcastle.
|
|
By:
You could make a case for any of them. The point is I (and the poster) think Everton could have a poor season.
I'd fancy Newcastle certainly could well finish ahead of them. West Brom have a great manager for that level who's expert at staying away from trouble. Sherwood's done a good job at Villa. That leaves the 3 promoted teams, Sunderland and Leicester. For Sunderland a lot will depend on how their new striker does. I think Norwich will stay up quite comfortably, Bournemouth are a complete unknown quantity - they could be dreadful, or they could take the league by surprise. Watford have lots of money, aren't afraid of making changes and have a potential quality attacker in Deeney. If I was to pick a bottom 3 it'd be Leiecester, Watford and - for value's sake - Everton. |
|
By:
It would be some feat for Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa to overtake Everton this season, the spreads have Everton increasing their points total against all three this season.
