old site has finally disappeared now

i dont appear to be able to get back to the old site  either......purple for me,new site is a bag of sh!te

It's disappeared for me for the first time.
I played a couple of US races in the early hours having rolled in after midnight,but I was sober enough to know that was the old site. Can't get it now though either via the forum or the separate bookmark I have for it. Not sure what to do now. I have a purple account but haven't used it for years as I fell out with their customer services far more dramatically than I ever have with Betfair.
Might have another look though as I don't use conventional bookies.

first time its not been available here too I'll have a look at the new site but not very confident about it

Old ( usable ) site dead here too. Not interested in " Roulette , " Blackjack" on this new, slow garish orange site so one more BF account closed here and let's see how the Purple site shapes up.

same here , went this morning. I cannot see anything better about the new site yet and I thought that was the purpose of this "upgrade " oh well, typical betfair procedure, everyone happy with the old site , lets change it .

theyll just tell you that you'll eventually get used to it..I cant stand the exchange or sportsbook.

I can't transfer to AUSTRALIAN wallet but I can on my older laptop through the old site still appearing but on my main newer laptop it is the new one

I'm still on it (on both) no probs. Hospital app this pm though so may come back to blank screens (but a healthy profit of course!). Daaan sarf is my location.

make sure you email them to complain. all these people on here moaning and i bet most have done nothing about it. but yeah this sucks, i hope they've improved the new site since i used it last, does it still place multiple bets on the same selection?

The harsh reality razz is that Betfair stopped listening to customers in 2008.

The Betfair Mgt do what they want in running their own business and simply have ignored customer feedback for years now. Cannot see it changing now and the sarcastic responses on the last Q and A forum session says it all.

Betfair is now a bookmaker run by bookmakers with only 2 main objectives as follows:

1. Maximise Betfair Profits through Premium Charges, Higher Commissions and diverting the mug money to the Betfair Sportsbook.
2. Maximise Share Price.

The Fair part of Betfair left a long time ago.

The downside of this strategy will be seen when a new competitor arrives in the market to give the Exchange liquidity a home.

Treat customers with contempt and they don't think twice about spending their money elsewhere.

Betfair will be a 2 bob Sportsbook only then and Ladbrokes/Corals will buy it.

Betfair are like Millwall FC, no one likes them but they don't care. It's not just on this forum were they get bad mouthed but on review sites around the web. They are rated right near the bottom on the trust pilot website for bookmaker reviews.

Have to agree with Westender, Betfair is more interested in becoming a bookmakers,their Sportsbook and investors now take priority,exchange customers becoming an inconvenience,last outrage,sportsbook worked,exchange didn't,tells it's own story.

Where does the future of exchange betting lie in people's opinion? For years I've read about people moving to other sites but it never materialised. Is the purple place going to get better, they don;t seem that interested either and had ample opportunities to grab some of betfair market share but never did.

I've gone on to Chrome which I don't use much. Can get the old site on there but not on Firefox or IE. Really is odd.

I haven't found one benefit yet in the new site, place majority of bets elsewhere nowadays so it doesn't make much difference to me

I believe that it is only a matter of time before well funded new entrepreneurs enter the betting market with new innovative technology.

People say it cannot happen but if Andrew Black etc can do it with Betfair in 2001, then it will certainly happen again leaving Betfair up shyte creek without a paddle.

Betfair Exchange is currently a risk free highly profitable model with a grossly dissatisfied customer base.

There is an increasing gap in the peer to peer betting market no longer filled by Betfair or Purple so the market is now ripe for the next revolution.

Only a matter of time now and there will be a stampede out the Betfair Website with customers remembering Premium Charges/High Commission/Betfair Sportsbook and will never return to Betfairs's website.

Betfair will probably be rebranded Bet Square or Red Square in the future.

yeah I'm probably being too optimistic, you make some good points. the only viable alternative imo is matchbook, I've been using them a lot more lately, they have much better liquidity for some of the sports I bet/trade on.

I use Betfair as  a place of last resort for betting now due to the grossly excessive Premium Charges.

I thought the same westender, there is ample room for a REAL alternative and innovative new model. It could possibly incorporate bitcoin in the future, making it accessible to more people around the globe.

if they could somehow open up exchange betting to USA as well that would add so much liquidity to the markets

theyre certainly losing out bigtime. Looking at all the inplay games now on the exchange. Nothing like the same liquidity in years past. Can't even begin to consider a bet til well inplay. Appalling. They deserve the sportsbook to fail bigtime.

I don't really use the site itself but always have it open. I've never noticed it being so slow and hanging until the last couple of days. Guess the IT guys were fully prepared for today then!!

Im annoyed the new site is absolute **** to use, the old site was much better! the same with the phone up the new one you are forced to use is also ****.

i asked betfair on twitter what was up with the site being so slow, apparently "The product team are aware the EXC+ is running slower than anticipated but it will be addressed soon." slower than anticipated? what are they talking about it's been like this for years

its still here if you look !!! go through the australian markets tennis open winner for example it will come up old site style - left hand menu football - fixtures - date -  match thats in play and old site appears - it will last as long as you are logged in - same for the nags - if you bookmark the tennis open winner in the first place you can use that to come back later on ( they have not shut down certain countries yet so a while longer is better than nothing )

when you have shareholders to please, a niche market and the long term loyal customers mean nothing, your complaints are futile and the bog standard responses you are getting is just paying lip service to keep the angry mob at bay. They've already made their minds up where the company is going, and the future is clearly not the exchange, flotation/greed was the beginning of its end, I doubt they bother to read feedback, no point trying to rearrange the deckchairs on the titanic.

Please understand BF that in this case change is not good.

old site back again for me after not being able to get it yesterday

There has not been any change which has pleased customers since 2008.

Every change has been either an increase in Betfair Premium Charges, increase in Betfair Commission Charges, Changes to the website resulting in downgrades and the significant decline in the range of the Live Video content.

Customer Service - they don't care.

Betfair is only interested in screwing as much money as possible out of customers.

Mine disappeared today. I've tried with the new site, but it's almost unusable for me. It sucks. My betfair adventure would appear to be over. It's already been said a thousand times, they wanted feedback, we gave it, they ignored it. Goodnight Vienna.

switched to the new site years ago and never looked back. just paid my mortgage off thanks to bf new site and other books

took only a few minutes for me to adjust to the new site. Love the graphics, sharp and crisp.  ols site looks like a first edition of Darwin's The Beagle.

Yeah, the new site is not too bad.I still prefer the old one but it's not a huge deal.Certainly not enough to consider leaving betfair over.

The worst thing I hate about the Betfair Website (New and Old) is the unreliability.
