The last time Real Madrid have scored in the opening 45 minutes was against Schalke in the reverse fixture. This drought (3 games and counting) has to come to an end sometime and if Crissy & Friends are even remotely interested in scoring goals tonight, Schalke will not keep a clean sheet for very long. Once the first goes in, the flood gates will open. Hence, the obvious choice for me is to stick a fiver on Over 2.5 goals (HT) @ 4.50. Grin

(The more realistic option would be to back Under 3.5 goals as I expect a stinker of a game, but let's not be cynical and instead pretend that these guys enjoy their work and want to entertain their fans tonight.)

Under 2.5 @ 3.6, 0-0 @ 38 for me. Madrid are dreadful at the minute.Their last 5 games have been under, Ronaldo in bits since he split with his g/f, Bale has not a shot this year and Benzema often profits from their work. Why should their form turn around just because they are playing Schalke in the CL ? Schalke will come to and try to nick something on the break or a set-piece but difficult to see them scoring. Not a chance in hell Di Matteo will go gung-ho. I expect a terrible game. Cue the 7-3. Best of luck.

His form has been garbage since they split up. Surely it can't be a coincidence.

Normally would lay the 0-0 here but Real are so dire right now I can't be bothered with it. Almost impossible it will finish 0-0 but I wouldn;t be surprised if it took a while for the goal to go in.

"Ronaldo in bits since he split with his g/f"

Something tells me that he's probably not going to struggle to attract a new bird. I doubt he's sitting at home checking tinder.

Bale hit the post from 50-odd yards the other night. Debatable whether it was a shot or not, admittedly.

Madrid have been dire pretty much since the 20 game winning streak, or whatever it was, ended. A good team would KO them. Anyone on them for the outright needs to hope they find some form relatively soon.

People seem to be forgetting they're 2-0 up, they don't really need to force the game. Actually quite surprised they've picked all their main players for this

Of course they don't have to win this game, but given the poor form they've been in of late you'd think Ancelotti will want his players to approach this as if they do. (The actual result is of much less importance, provided they go through to the next round.) They need to start finding their rhythm again if they want to remain competitive for the prizes this season.

Yeah they really don't like Bale there. Short memories as it was him that won them the copa del rey and then scored their 2nd goal in the CL final

They don't like Bale, but forget that he's playing on the right when he should be playing on the left.

Should blame the club they support/the manager for buying a player they didn't need in the first place.
