Kane motm for a deflected free kick. Sums it up.

Report themover • November 2, 2014 5:53 PM GMT

refs are really appalling though. I was seething at half time in the City match, it's nearly every match nowadays. The sooner they use technology more the better...could be a while yet though if that coont Platini has anything to do with it

Report scandanavian_haven • November 2, 2014 5:53 PM GMT

Report dan_411 • November 2, 2014 5:54 PM GMT

I don't really want to support technology in football but if this is the standard of referees we are dealing with then maybe it is for the better

agree, refs are creating too much 'drama' nowadays with bad decisious being made. I'm not interested in drama. I'm interested in the right result from happening.

Report berto77 • November 2, 2014 5:55 PM GMT

Really low quality fare.

Poor weekend all round for the "best league in the world" (Oscars superb goal aside).

Report themover • November 2, 2014 5:55 PM GMT

for example why not just review every goal like they do with TD's in American Football...would only take the time it takes the players to get back to the half way line for a kick off

Report cs2007new • November 2, 2014 5:56 PM GMT

anyone got on spurs @ odds 30 ?

Report themover • November 2, 2014 5:56 PM GMT

kelly topped up on Spurs, not sure what at but he KNEW

Report stu • November 2, 2014 5:56 PM GMT

Players go straight through someone, and he takes an age to even give a yellow.

He's either corrupt or so bad he should not be allowed in League 2 let alone Premier.

Report 11kv • November 2, 2014 5:57 PM GMT

No but there was loads of cash left after Spuds made it 1-2 in the correct score market so I availed myself to some of it.......

Report berto77 • November 2, 2014 5:58 PM GMT

I've never really been in favour of technology. Not really against the principle, just because I haven't heard anyone propose a workable system. Who refers? How often? For what decisions? too many decisions matters of opinion not fact etc etc.

However, it's time for a trial. We can't go on like this.

Report 11kv • November 2, 2014 5:59 PM GMT

Leave it as it is there's too many suspends now

Report stu • November 2, 2014 6:00 PM GMT

How he couldn't just dish out a couple of yellows when there was the scuffle, as most refs would do...?

But to compare that with no reds for two obvious two-footed leg breaker tackles...beggars belief.

Report berto77 • November 2, 2014 6:02 PM GMT

The players reactions got Benteke sent off. All steaming in and jostling. They should grow up.

Report themover • November 2, 2014 6:02 PM GMT

that's true berto, but a review after every goal would at least eliminate linesman offside errors, for example

Report berto77 • November 2, 2014 6:03 PM GMT

Yes, I'm coming to the view that technology wouldn't be perfect but could reduce the number of big errors.

Report themover • November 2, 2014 6:05 PM GMT

similarly a sending off could also be an automatic review to make sure the official(s) on the pitch have made the right call. Again wouldn't take long and as with American Football if it's unclear they go with the decision of the on-pitch official.

Report berto77 • November 2, 2014 6:06 PM GMT

Penalties?

Report themover • November 2, 2014 6:09 PM GMT

I think with penalties each team could be allowed 3 challenges...bit like in tennis. Where they can challenge a decision and lose one of the challenges if they are wrong. So a team that feels there was a penalty could also challenge the decision when the ref didnt give one. That would also cut out all this nonsense of players charging and surrounding the ref when they feel he's got it wrong.

Report stu • November 2, 2014 6:15 PM GMT

I don't mind ref being leniant, or ref being harsh, but I hate when they do both for different sides. In the same match.

Report comingupthehill • November 2, 2014 6:15 PM GMT

if you owned a football club would you pay paul lambert money to manage it for you.a negative dour scot who seems to let events take control of him.why dont owners take more care over who they give money to.
