I think this is gonna be another one sided game with Mariners winning by 2 clear.  Anybody else playing?  The liquidity on this league this year is lower than ever so far :(

Is it still shown in UK?

I don't know much about Austrailian football. Do you think it will be a tight game?

I don't but it is the first league game of season.  Mariners have played a few competitive games over off season and played well and winning the new cup games.  Jets were really bad last season and lost their cup game.  3-1 or 2-0 in my opinion.

Bring Villa out for a 10 game stint and start on the bench in the opening round. Cos it makes sense Crazy

It somehow needs to figure out how to make a team in Auckland work.  Failed before as ground was up in Albany which is just a pain to travel to.  Wellington have played at Eden park a few times and got 15-25k depending on weather etc.  An NZ derby would be good for league and Auckland a decent away trip for fans

ill watch and get on 2nd half
both teams missing players with Aussie and Aussie u20
plus our best player Abbas with Iraq. So we missing a fair few tonight. Reflected of the huge price considering we brilliant at home,

north harbour stadium a dive.
The rugby team gets 5000 so they all stuck up wan kers
nothing in Albany but sewers.

Auckland like you say needs a team at Eden Park

There are 250,000 ppl in  Newcastle maybe less on Central Coast. Auckland about 1.7m
The sooner the better

The stadium is getting a massive upgrade of 17's world cup next year.  Its just tough to get to.  There is no rail on North shore and motorway is a car park at weekends.

I went to see All whites play solomons and 3 sides of staium open to bad weather.  The stand was quite good though

Problem with Eden park is no parking.  On the plus side, match tickets normally include rail travel direct to stadium

Is football popular in Auckland? If not, the 1.7 million won't matter. the Gold Coast experiment was a massive failure.

An away trip to Queenstown would be nice ExcitedLove

Its got the highest participation of kids in school these days.  Domestic rugby going backwards.  There is a market.  If wellington can make it work on crowds less than 10k then Auckland should with 15-20k at Eden

Fair enough. No bet on match odds, dutched Brosque, Gameiro and Dugandzic FGS at surprising odds given the names on the bench.

Cairns won't work. Townville had a team and it was a disaster. I was in Cairns last year and it is struggling economically. Plenty of businesses shut down, restaurants right on the water next to the marina shut down. Not good.

Leave it at 10, it's working right now and there aren't many areas left in Oz that would justify the risk of expansion.

Be interesting to see what sort of shape Villa is in. Hopefully they employ 3 men to man amrk him leaving Dugandzic an easy tap in Excited
