Agree with the OP, it is indefensible if a team is relegated by a point having lost one of their home games. Once a competition loses its sporting integrity it's in trouble. Better then the 39th game, but unnecessary imo. Would imagine they'd be pretty certain it will happen this time to let the news out.

Three teams from the NFL are giving up home advantage to play at wembley this season!

A typically, stupid idea, but the NFL comes over to Wembley 3 times a season and some team, loses its home match, because of it and that is probably how, that ridiculous idea, has surfaced.

I can't see Swansea agreeing to play an epl home game outside of England.

Don't what see what the fuss is about, as stated above 3 NFL teams give up a home in game in a much smaller season as presumably there's an incentive to do so. The premier league will provide likewise to the teams involved in these games as well as each team selling a few shirts wherever it's played. It's not a case of allowing it to happen, it's inevitable in the next few years, who's going to prevent it?
Also does anyone actually think the premier league has sporting integrity when the big 4 teams have 3 or 4 times the wage bill of rest of the alsorans? The premier league main goal is to make as much money as possible, which games overseas will help do. |

It will happen and all the mugs who buy season tickets etc etc (which fund the lifestyles of the players and Executives)will whine like feck, but they all sold their souls the minute they signed up for Sky and gave their bank details to the club
And all the EPL will say is suck on it |

would give Man United the chance to play closer to their fans imo

themover is right. Clubs like United, Liverpool & Arsenal with their huge global followings would easily sell out games abroad but I doubt this would work for most clubs. Who is going to buy a ticket for Swansea v Hull or West ham v Man City?

Scudamore is like Blatter, just wants to leave a legacy and look a moderniser.

TV money funds the lifestyles not season ticket holders. This move if it happens will bring foreign money into the Premier League. Must be one of the UK's biggest exports and this makes it an excellent idea. As it is we've attracted loads of meg rich foreigners into the country like Abramovich and the Ettihad crew who all want to be part of the brand. Their money filters through in all sorts of ways. It's a very good idea that consolidates the foreign investment that underpins the success of the Premier League. |

20 to 30 years ago Rangers and Celtic would have walked into England's premier division and been competitive. They are hopelessly outclassed now and that's all down to the Premier League brand and tv rights
