Bristol City v Luton
Luton have been very poor on the road, but they are capable of winning games (won 6 of 12 home game).
Bristol have won only 3 of last 10 games and failed to score in 4 of last 7 games, so in a game that I reckon is more evenly matched than the odds would suggest I was going to back Luton on the AH to cover draw/away, but have decided at odds of 3.75 I’ll stick a small bet on them to take their 2nd away win of the season
Anyone have any thoughts on this game??

apols for not posting recently but we had 9 on xmas day and 18 guests on boxing day so a bit busy--everything back to normal now

You had a busier couple of days than me Dragon (sounds like you had a good time), on Xmas day me and the other half nipped out to do some shopping in the morning and picked up a take away on the way home, them yesterday spent most of the day looking through the up coming football fixtures, nowt like the quiet easy life.

I've had a couple of bets on the darts, had to back both the players from my home town, Dobey @ 32 & Rydz @ 70

nice one OTH - yes we had a great time and did a carribean xmas on boxing day which was great- everyone has gone now so just sat down to watch todays horse racing with a nice glass of red.

Wtf is a Caribbean Xmas meal?

I can only think of ackee and salt fish starter, turkey and all the trimmings with dumplings, jerk pork, rice and peas, Christmas pudding all washed down with loads of Appleton or Mount Gay.

Probably better music than John Denver and Johnny Mathis!

Would  Caribbeans Christmas be particularly English / Scottish?

We has rice and peas, roast pumpkin and sweet potatoes with the turkey, whispering, and Bajan rum cake for laters. Appletons is far too strong ffs, Mount Gay is more civilised.

I like Mount Gay too.

I do not like Turkey at all except in club sandwiches. I had a friend who did the most amazing jerk but was a classy lady, never used a pan.

Not keen on turkey either but argue with my wife at your peril. For her, Christmas dinner means turkey. I ate the liver, neck, parsons nose and the wings, the only parts with some taste.
She sometimes cooks jerk but prefers brown down chicken. She does ackees and saltfish although that's more Jamaican than Bajan and also makes saltfish fritters or cooks it with onions. Boiled then fried bacon with onions is to die for too.

I was wrong about the Coventry v Plymouth game - luckily at 12.0 my stake was very small.

Coventry are the strangest team in the Championship - punters don't have a clue what they are going to see. The xG tables say they should be 3rd of 4th in the league, but they have lost at home to Derby and lost recently 4-1 at struggling Pompey.

Morning WD

Jerk Chicken wings, Salt Fish and Ackee, Lamb Curry,Dumplings, Plaintain, Jerk Chicken Rice and Peas , Spicy Mac and Cheese, Chick Pea and Okra Curry (Veg)and a variety of Patties ( 18 people)

Caribbean Rum Punch, Carrib Guiness, Carib Tropical Fruit Salad and Jamacian Ginger Cake.

All home made by the Amazing Mrs D who has Caribb ancestery ( Dad  was from Jamacia).

Went down a treat - hardly anything left.

Reggae music all day and I did a Caribbean quiz which went down well

Sounds like a great Christmas do, the Dragon. Mac and cheese is a regular dish here too. She uses okra to make cou-cou with red salmon. I'm not keen on fried plantain but she eats it often.

I’ve ended up with 9 games for the 3pm kick offs, so hoping for some better results than my selections just before xmas.

Picked up a couple of winning bets on Boxing Day so it wasn't a total wipeout, so I’m still in profit for the month to level stakes on here (+6.69pts) but still down for the season (-8.73pts)

Dragon Stout used to be a favourite of mine. Dark beers been my preference for a long time but I don’t include Guinness in that, see there’s a bit of a craze for the stuff currently. A decent craft brewery is Siren near Reading, their Broken Dream stout is very good, on my rare foray across the border I try to pick some up at Asda in Enniskillen. There’s also a Icelandic Stout that I enjoy, always seems out of stock these days unfortunately…

Only 1 of my 3pm bets came in so I’m just hanging on to a December profit

The darts continues to produce shocks with the biggest of them tonight with Cool Hand on his way home... my original book was obliterated early doors with Cross, DvD, Ross Smith and Rock all beaten and a few rags who I chucked a couple of quid at also gone... after Round 2 I stuck with the 'weaker' side of the draw with Dobey @ 25/1 and Rydz @ 50/1 so I'm with you OTH... saw that Rydz was matched at 1000 for £265 ... do hope Rydz doesn't peak too soon as he's looked electric so far...

A few losing bets for me towards the end of the year resulted in ending December with only +0.70pts (and -14.72pts for the season)

With Barnsley having dropped points in 8 of 9 games played against current top 10 teams and only having 3 wins in their last 9 games, surely Wrexham can extend their unbeaten run of 8 games with at least a draw.

3 out of 6 on the btts yesterday so small loss on them. The Isak Gordon bet landed after 20 minutes so pretty much break even on the day.
Gone for btts at Fulham and have had a chunk on Liverpool @ 1.43 surely will go lower before kick off unless Salah injured.

Going for an Asian Handicap bet in tonight’s cup game

Hopefully Newcastle are in a good position for the 2nd leg after tonight’s game

currently Newcastle with +0.75 goals can be backed at 1.82

So, I will be hoping that if Newcastle don’t avoid defeat they can at least limit a loss to only a 1 goal margin, so I’d get ½ stake return and they’d still be in with a decent chance of getting through to the final

Wycombe (2nd )v Hudderdsfield (4th) in Div 1 is an interesting one tonight with both teams in goodish form at the top of the table they have only lost 1 game between them in the last 12 games.

Huddersfield are unbeaten in 14 and Wycombe have only lost 1 game at home all season and that was a 2-3 by leaders Bham.

Everything looks like pointing to a draw..

Forest v Luton BTTS - 11/10 with bookies or even higher on the exchange. Forest may relax a bit for the cup and Luton games away from home always have goals. They have just signed winger Isiah Jones from Boro and he can surprise when on form and could provide decent service to Morris and Adebayor.

Orient being well punted being picked all over the place, wouldn't surprise me if they kick off favourite. As a Derby fan think tonight's match is massive for us, I think a lot of the fans who have backed Warne could turn with a defeat. We are desperate for a couple of signings . Almost all of our threat is from set pieces and with most league one teams being used to defending high ball in the box could really struggle tonight and I certainly wouldn't talk anyone out of putting their hard earned on the home side.

WALSALL at 4/5 at home to beat MK DONS looks a great bet and is my Highest Rated team this weekend

They have won 8 games on the bounce and are top of the table by a massive 12 points and are clearly the best team in the league by some distance.

MKD on the other hand are in poor form with one win in 6 and 4 defeats in the same period. They were on a great run before that with 6 wins on the bounce which probably has impacted on Walsalls price.

Other Teams to back are Forest at 4/9 and Salford at Evens.

In terms of away teams Barnsley look good at 17/20 as do Orient at 7/5 and QPR 29/20 and Bradford 11/8
