Ireland are massively over-priced in this match. Won't do anything until I see the team but provided O' Neil plays a relatively attacking side, I will be getting stuck into Ireland. Normally prefer to lay but the value on offer for the win is too good to turn down.

In their 2014 World Cup qualification campaign, Georgia scored only once in 4 home games but conceded only two goals -- which isn't half bad if you consider they were in the group with Spain (0 - 1) and France (0 - 0). I know these results will have no bearing on today's game, but I couldn't see myself backing any team to score without giving it at least 20 minutes to see how the game goes. Do the boys in green even have any creative midfielders who can unlock the Georgian defense or will they simply lump the ball into the box and hope for the best?

Ireland's away record under Trapattoni was very good. In competitive away matches they won 9, drew 5 and lost 1, Trap's last game in charge. Although they played dinosaur football the players have credited Trap with giving the team the 'steel' to perform away from home. Hopefully they still have it . . . Seamus Coleman and Aiden McGeady should provide a threat on the wings, James McCarthy is decent. Glen Whelan isn't half bad at set pieces. Apart from that we'll be relying on Robbie Keane to score. Keane always scores!!

Won 9, drew 5 and lost 1? Futbol24.com's stats show a different picture:

11.10.2013 WCQL Germany 3-0 Ireland
10.09.2013 WCQL Austria 1-0 Ireland
22.03.2013 WCQL Sweden 0-0 Ireland
16.10.2012 WCQL Faroe Islands 1-4 Ireland
07.09.2012 WCQL Kazakhstan 1-2 Ireland

Even if you include friendlies, the Irish have only scored two goals in two years (2013 + 2014 - 9 games) away from home. Am I missing something?

Ah, I see. I thought Trappatoni resigned after the final World Cup qualification game, but apparently the shock defeat against the mighty Austrians was too much for the old man to take... Silly

Yeah, that's a decent list of results and should give a side the confidence that they're at least good enough to not lose, but it's a long, long time ago. And if that's mainly down to Trappatoni's influence on the players, I wouldn't count on them having a similar resolve under the new manager. Do the players even want to play for MON? (I think he's decent, but a bit weird.)

Again, watch and wait for me. Shame there's no 'win from behind' market, could see myself risking a few quid there before kick off.

Austria played a part in the demise of the Charlton years as well as Trap.

a nice bet on the correct score of Ireland 2 0 at 11.5 is my call. lovely back to lay price as a bonus. if Ireland lead 1 0 at half time Ireland to win 2 0 will be around 4 or 5. or do I wait until Ireland lead 2 0 then trade out at that point, around 2 or 3 (hopefully). good luck to everyone tonight, some good betting opportunities as well..Wink
