far too many ex players have jumped on the pundit gravy train for my liking. but there are four of them that I listen to when they have an opinion. paul merson, matt le tissier, danny murphy and niall Quinn seem to talk the most sense imo and all four seem like decent blokes you could have a pint with. on the other hand I just switch off when most of them speak including in no particular order Robbie savage, Charlie Nicholas phil Thompson, ray Houghton and micky Quinn. by the way does anyone really listen to micky Quinn and a female called georgie bingham on talksport on a Saturday and sunday morning? it has to be the most painful listen on the radio. imo the female bingham seems to think she is some sort of authority and only her  opinions really matter. cant stand people like that!!!!!!!!! would be nice if forumites added any more "pundits" to the list.Happy

Agree with the four you like.

Can't stick Savage and Stan Collymore is awful - comes out with so much rubbish it's unbelievable!

Tim Vickery only one worth listenng to

After leaving school, he took a series of jobs, ranging from menswear shop assistant, labourer, comedy writer, box office assistant and finally a theatre manager in Brazil's Favelas land. There he met a series of international performance people, becoming fascinated with the Brazilian pre-occupation with football.

As a result, in 1994 having trained as a TEFL teacher, he left the UK and travelled to Brazil to teach the English language, learn the local language and immerse himself in Brazilian football.

Former player = thick as sh!t, prefers status quo, wont criticise old mates or future employers

When I first listened to Michael Owen co-commentating I thought he was shockingly bad. Now I think he is very good. On the other hand I thought Paul Scholes was brilliant as a pundit the first time I listened to him. Now I think he is gash.

they are all aftertimers

we need a pundit who understands

i like tim vickery as he has a great knowledge of south american football
so i learn stuff from him, not just opinions of why that happened

is this a wind up if so i,ll join in,bar non nail quinn is up there with the worst pundits going, and danny murphy showed in the world cup that he,s clueless got every game wrong,
quinn after 7 secs will tell you both sides formations how there going to play and who,s on top, after 11 secs he,ll change his mind, only pundit who gets more airtime than the commentator
