one of very few commentators, maybe the only one, that ever comes out with a witty comment and not frightened to offend. voice makes me drowsy, but no worse than the rest

Hes very sarcastic tho, but he can be funny at times

Its when he makes things up ...that is what annoys me.

He has unneeded personal jibes against players. He starts attacking them personally to discredit them on a particular play etc

he is not actually commentating on the play...he mainly just tells everyone when a sub is warming up etc

Really don't like his style. He is so negative , half of his comments is him trying to be funny. His "jokes" are almost always at the expense of a player.

On the occasions where he strings more than 10 words together & talks about the game he is reasonably good.

Someone needs to keep the overated w@nkers on their toes

I understand what you about his style, but I don't mind him.  He's preferable to the ever increasing co-commentators who spout endless tactical bullsh*t all match.  Collymore being the worst at this,

don't worry as all the remarks about players diving will disappear once the epl comes back round.

once we get away from 2 foreign teams playing then we'll be back to "clear penalty" and "definite contact" and the blatant diving will be ignored again.

Yeah cos no one is ever accused of diving in the Premier League are they.

yeah, you can highlight a fault with a decision, but he is a dickhead to try and make out that a players shot, or pass, had some ulterior selfish motive.

He has got a very high opinion of him self. I hate it when he just answers a long winded question from his partner with ‘Yeah.....‘ or 'Nah....‘

At least he mentioned the match. Jonathan Pearce appeared to be doing his best to mention anything other than the football that was in front of him. A complete pompous ****.

Lawrenson is a breath of fresh air to the pundit team, he tells it as it is, not scared to tell the truth, I wish more were as honest about what we all see, time wasting, diving, arm wrestling, conning, tugging, cheating, complaining have I missed any out, the game is now a joke sport, a fraud, as the journalist in the MOS said, the only thing this Brazil team have in common with the teams from the past is the colour of their strips. cheers.

The Germans know that as well – they are not a great team, but are very functional. That has got them this far but it will not get them to the World Cup final.

you present a strawman argument when you suggest it's his demeanor that turns people off. can't catch me has already quoted a frankly laughable cliche from earlier tonight toeing the so called party line, have you any evidence in his decade plus of presenting, a maverick opinion against the swell of public opinion? he's the laziest analyst in world football surely, no research just sneering for 90 minutes?

theres some measure of ability as a pundit to judge before the game

people don't seem to like him, and I gave my
opinion in the same way as others did. Like a
lot of others, pundits are expected to be good
tipsters, when in reality they are just guessers
like most others, but some think they ought to
be able to forecast 7-1 score lines!lol.

he is a maestro at stating the bleedin obvious and aftertiming, being dismissive of many views

but fails to give any real insight into football to the viewers he is paid to inform




some of the pundits have been great, bbc employs great pundits in other sports

Donny, I don't listen to all of his comments, but I find
him ok. You pay your money and you take your choice. I don't
mind if anyone dislikes him, but I don't have that problem.
