Anyone else get the impression he might just be looking for a transfer out of City?!
First the birthday cake fiasco and now this:
Yaya Toure has attacked Manchester City by saying the club's post-season tour to Abu Dhabi denied him the chance to spend time with his dying brother.
Ibrahim Toure died last week in Manchester aged 28 after a battle with cancer.
And Toure says the Blues schedule denied him the chance to spend time at his sibling's bedside, instead pressing him to fly to Abu Dhabi for Premier League title celebrations.
In a column penned for France Football magazine, Toure wrote: "I confess that I am still very sad. I'm suffering because I feel I have done nothing useful for him the last few weeks.
"At the end of the season, I wanted to stay for four or five days with my brother before I flew to prepare for the World Cup with Ivory Coast.
"Except that City did not want to give me a few days.
"I went to celebrate the title championship in Abu Dhabi while my brother was in his sickbed. By fortune, Kolo was at his bedside."
However, it is understood Toure did not specifically ask for compassionate leave.
Toure added: "After that I blame myself for not insisting and for not leading them to respect me.
"However, club officials knew that I had been suffering for a few months seeing the health of my brother decline.
"This is the reason I had several injuries at the end of the season. Because my head had taken control of my body.
"These last four months have probably been the hardest in my life.

I think it's a reasonable request to stay with a dying sibling instead of going on some moneymaking tour to play football
It's not nice to get stuck into a player over something like this so I'll try to be as tactful as I can but he isn't being very consistent here. On the one hand he didn't want to fulfill his contractual committments to a club which has made him unbelievably rich and is complaining that they weren't sensitive to his needs. On the other he makes it clear that he didn't actually ask the club if he could take a few days to be beside his brothers bedside. Then as his brother grew closer to his sad death he went out to Brazil and not only played football a few days before he died but it seems also on the actual day he died.
All you can say in conclusion is that if this fella wants out of the club then he should put in a formal transfer request and take it from there. This one leaves a bit of a sour taste and the birthday cake fiasco was quite simply an embarrassment to a grown man.

id like toure to explain why after the 4 day trip to abu dhabi he then moved on to Qatar making tv appearances rather then return to Manchester to be with his dying brother
It does seem odd don't it. Don't have a brother, have one sister and can barely think about her being in that situation but if she was, I certainly wouldn't be kicking a fkn ball around. World cup or no World Cup. To then come out and say the club begrudged you the chance seems a bit rich. We don't know the particulars and should refrain from judging, but still, seems odd.

I've said it before but he's 31 and his legs are beginning to go. City should sell him to someone like PSG because in a couple of years he will be worth nowt. He's also on massive wages given he ain't going to last much beyond another season.

To be fair to the guy none of us on here knows exactly what went on. All sides in football including clubs, players and journalists have been known to put out information as well as misinformation.

He could have stayed if he wanted to. I doubt very much MCFC would force him to go to Dhubai had he requested to stay. I've no sympathy for this guy. He is using his brothers death as a tool to get better wages or a transfer.

he needs to cut the crap and just ask for a transfer but he wont as he will have to give up any loyalty bonus
He comes across as one of these players whose number one priority is money. The clubs are nothing more than the people who pay his wages and if he can make more elsewhere he'll engineer a move without a care for his current club.
