Cant agree im afraid , a lunchtime kick off in hot conditions will suit Costa Rica better , the Italians suffered big time when they played here last year , and that was an evening kick off ,

Last year they got knocked out on penalties with Spain , Beat Mexico ,Beat Japan and lost to only Brazil

Uruguay failed to press for the second goal when they had the chance. I don't think Italy will make the same mistake, they'll certainly won't defend as poorly as the Uruguayans did. My guess: 2 - 0 or 4 - 1.

It's a mug thing to say, it really is, but Italy are just on a different level. Complacency - should it be an issue? Probably not because the Italians know what needs to be done in the big tournaments.

Costa Rica only beat Uruguay because the Uruguay defence had more holes than a Swiss cheese. Italy won't give them that sort of luxury, and Pirlo/De Rossi will ensure they don't get as far as the back line, let alone behind it.
Easy win for Italy here. 2-0 up within the hour, then they'll back off and rest key players with an 11 man defence. Catennacio (or whatever it's called). |
