Also then getting All British teams banned from European Competitions
Incorrect. Scottish clubs were unaffected. |

Heysel was a disgrace how LFC walked away from it all but blameless, all English top league punished for the actions of one club.
Hillsborough was a terrible awful accident where no body will ever be found responsible, guilty in a court of law.As much as people symphathise they'll never get what they call justice. Let's not forget after all their campaigning the behaviour of LFC fans at Champion League final in Athens where ticketless drunken fans storm into the ground[ring any bells] and are officially named by UEFA as the worst behaved fans ever. That is what their manager at the time may of called the FACTS. |

Don't think your the sharpest tool in the box homofortea, well maybe the tool part is correct.!! Feck me the stalker brings up a post I may have made on Boxing Day...(quite apt for a Liverpool fan)... Bring up a few more like the three times I have tipped horses on here and they have won at 20/1 16/1 and 12/1... Bring up the thread where I suggested that you get on Hull City at 100/1 to win the FA Cup... I could go on but the Police might chase me and I have to listen to my favourite Jam single... YOU KNOW THE ONE..... |

Actually, HomeforTea, Gohostbuster HAS made you look stupid. Tipping 3 winners when you've suggested 100 losers isn't to impressive.
Suggesting it is all your own idea to back Hull City at 100/1, just after you'd read it tipped on the Sporting Life website , also is called "plagiarism". I would put your headphones on and put an "Eton Rifle" down your throat!..now "That's Entertainment!" |

Re. my Hillsborough post...I was not suggesting this was typical of JUST Liverpool fans, it was happening at every major game in the 1980's whether it be Liverpool, Manchester, North London, Midlands ..... a major disaster was bound to happen whilst grounds were all standing. It just was not the fault of a few police officers!.

I never read the Racing Post Website - paying £850 plus a year for the printed version is enough.. I had the "max bet" allowed at Paddy power which was a whole £20... I maybe "Going Underground" as I am obviously out of my depth... But I can remember a Jam gig at the Deeside Leisure Centre in the early 80's where a load of Scoucers charged in and wanted a fight... Nothing ever changes.... |

So why didn't it happen the year before ? Same teams. Same competition. Same fans. Same end of the ground. Different (inexperienced) police officer in charge. Spot the odd one out. |

I backed Hull FC because they were overpriced and I thought that they would be free of relegation... However it seems that I now have to take the father-in-law down to Wembley as he has two tickets as a season ticket holder... Luckily enough Liverpool are not in the final.... |

Well the 'circumstances' the previous year involved the police operating a filter system which involved gently persuading the Liverpool supporters to make their way into the ground well before 2.30pm. This was standard practice at big matches because of the limited amount of turnstiles at The Leppings Lane End, plus the bottle-neck geography of the area which made for a strong threat of a potential crush. In 1989 no such procedure was followed, & Liverpool fans were left to mill around & enjoy the wonderful Spring sunshine. On our tickets it asked that we take our places by 2.30 pm. Seeing as the pressure began to manifest itself at approx 2.20pm it's safe to assume that the vast majority of Liverpool supporters were complying with the advice on the ticket. Unfortunately however, because of the aforementioned 'circumstances' relating to the failures by the high command of the SYP, the inevitable crush started to occur. But not by a tanked up, ticketless mob, as some would like to portray us. The Taylor report actually states that there was no evidence of excessive drunken behaviour by the Liverpool fans. It also states that there was nothing to suggest that large numbers of fans without tickets played any sort of part in what happened outside. So yeah, you're right. You do get a different result each time. Be interesting to see what result comes up when senior police officers are eventually brought to trial. |
