how much do they owe

Around 80k to stave off a winding up order within the next 10 days and around 300k to finish the season. Criminal really.
This is he team that the media defines FA Cup Giantkilling by. We all know the clip of Ronnie Radford scoring the 35 yarder against Newcastle and the fans invading. All that history will be gone. |

First the racecourse and now the football. I can even remember worcestershire playing first class cricket at the racecourse - saw Leicestershire beat them there.

they have fallen down the table by failing to win, while southport and chester under the management have picked up.
i enjoyed my trip to edgar street, the away end is a dump but has character. i thought the chairman was also the team manager for a period? Is this still the case? How did the finances get so bad? |

My heart goes out to you and yours, I fear this is only the tip of the iceberg. Years of mis management by 'shrewd business men' and rogues like Peter Ridsdale will catch up with a lot of clubs of various sizes. My team Barnsley are walking a tight line

good luck to your club glossy, my club are still in admin, and by the looks of it will be relegated this weekend . its **** our debt was close to 30million, and tbh im amazed we avoided liquidation . as long as we still have a club though.

It highlights the stupidity of football in that a Conference club with 1,000 to 2,000 regular fans can go bust due to lacking £300k which a Premiership footballer can earn in a week.

I don't want to sound like a bit of a c..t, but I often read about years of mismanagement, or dodgy owners etc.
This is not a dig at Hereford as I don't know their circumstances, but if you look at Leeds or Pompey, for example, did their fans voice concerns when they were spending unsustainable amounts of money, or was they jizzing in their pants about playing against AC Milan, Barca and getting to FA Cup Finals? My own team are utter shyte, and today it was announced that our 70+ year old chairman will remain despite rumours of the club being close to a sale. The thing is, the sale was a bargain. He was going to write off the £5 million interest free loan he gave us, with the sale of the club including up to £7 million worth of land, ideal for development. And the price? Free. He was giving it away. The thing is, he wanted assurances that any sale of our assets would be ploughed back into the club, paying off the loans to others, like the AIB, and insuring there would be funds for the immediate future, thus giving the club a fresh start. His refusal to fund us any further means we have had to live within our means which has obviously affected our league position (which I have no problems with), but when clubs like Port Vale have a transfer embargo placed upon them this season, and Swindon last season, plus Wolves still paying PL wages (I'm guessing) to long term contracted players, plus other clubs no doubt spending what they haven't got, then I find it hard to have sympathy for clubs in financial mire. |

Glossy,
Newport County fan here. Know of your current plight, and of course we have been there ouselves. Hope you pull through. Awful for the fans of any club to be in a situation like this. Always a great atmosphere at Edgar Street for our local derbies. C,mon Hereford.! |

It seems like dreadful financial mismanagement. There were no surprises or unseen circumstances, I believe. Budgets seemed to be based on success with no plan B should it not happen.
It was always an experience visiting the ground as the away end was a throw-back to the 70's. I was there earlier this year and was glad to see the toilets had a roof on, as I am sure a few years ago the gents didn't! I certainly hope you pull through and would expect that my team have a collection next home game as, I believe, you did when we were in serious trouble a few years ago. |
|
By:
so the Hereford chairman put all his chips on green(promotion) in a sea of red and black?
|
|
By:
Hope it has a happy ending. Two of the local clubs, teams I have supported have gone through chasing the dream.
Don't know the situation in Hereford, but its usually medium tier money men with a loose wallet and a short commitment that cause the problem. |

who is your team, hearts 1874 ?? you didn't say .....

Loved my two trips to Edgar Street watching Crewe. One was a midweek game and its one of those grounds with massive corner floodlights that really whet you're appetite when you are approaching the ground in the dark.
Hope they pull through. I'd have a lot more respect for Wayne Rooney if he used 3 days wages to bail Hereford out. |

This is the unofficial blog site for the club and has regular updates as events unfold; one of the latest being a fantastic gesture from the comedian Omid Dijalli having agreed to do a benefit show next with all proceeds going towards the club - all from just having read a few tweets about our plight. |
