I think "fines" are probably fictional to try and pre empt FA action........

The fine would come out of the nett earnings (pre-tax)

The same way that any deductions are removed from your own wages for a company car or health care etc.

Top footballers are involved in so many tax avoidance schemes that the difference between gross or net figures becomes inconsequential

if you honestly think players and managers get fined by a club you are in cloudcuckoo land

Should be paid into separate account held by the FA for grass roots football. Fines under the current system can easily be lost in creative accounting schemes.

The player's contract would have to hold the fining clause, so i'd say it's taken off the gross earnings of the player and the club pays the tax on the fine. But i'd say in practice in a lot of cases the club only pays the tax on the fine

managers should sit in stand and grin and bare it same as fans ..... has all ... all  ...prep? done by 3 pm on sat .. let these players get on with it  .     T.V.  ..,  they are the boys who thrive on controversy and weaker managers fall for it , as they become EXPLOSIVE   ..passion for the game of sport  ? ...mostly   UNSPORTING .. ...AND CHILDISH   LIKE ..NEED SPANKING  ..  only not allowed violence  re head butting etc  ...Words can hurt , but at least rarely causes too much friction   ..again loved by media ...sells papers and ,  tv ..sport  and news channels  ...all give it laldy  ???  Wise up mr manager  ...

I once attempted to collect a debt from an England International, Premier League Footballer. He ignored many requests, so I went to see him at his Clubs training ground (i had a warrant), where it was requested I speak to the team manager, which I did. The outcome was, I was sent to the Club, whereupon the secretary paid the due sum in full, and said they would stop it out of the players wages.

pre is before tax.

would be a nett deduction.
You cant stop gross pay if you have worked those "hours"....employment law....the amount still has to be taxed.

and the tax man would probably fine you too for avoiding tax

what they would do is work out the nett and decuct that figure ...hpe this helps

the player is not an employee, he is a contractor under a contract for services. it would all depend on what the contract says and i would imagine fines are dealt with in the most tax efficient manner

If the rumours are true then Mike Ashley is Pardews Bank Manager anyway

Players are considered employees and they are assets of the club as reflected within balance sheets - often some of their remuneration package is considered outside of PAYE such as their brand name displayed on shirts "image rights as we might say" - usually a figure is agreed and this is paid to the company which has been created for the player.
