He's a just a confidence player. He didnt get any love when he went there, the first game was against Liverpool just a couple of days after the move which he didnt play well in.

He was living out of a suitcase in a hotel for the first few months.

I think its similar with Shevshenko. Just flopped when he went there, style of play didnt suit him, not in the right frame of mind. He just didnt settle

as the story goes.

we were having a reaction tot he season before when we tried to challenge on 2 fronts and just failed in the league.

the following season (world cup year) torres picked up a few niggling injuries.
the medical staff were told to say he was fit to play , by the then owners, to Rafa because the owners knew how important it was to get top 4.

Rafa picked him for the birmingham game but took him off in the second half because he wasnt right.

It wrecked his world cup but when he came back the following season he still looked off.

He used to be able to slow defenders down to a crawl and just explode past them.

imo that injury was mis managed by us and he eiher has a physcological fear of it going again or it really ahs got to the point where he wont be the old torres.

He's still has won the lot somehow.

In his first full season at Chelsea, Torres won the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, despite receiving criticism for a comparatively low goal-scoring record.

The following season he scored in the final of the 2012-13 UEFA Europa League, helping Chelsea to win the competition for the first time.

He joined team-mate Juan Mata in becoming the first players to have held all 4 of the Champions League, Europa League, World Cup and the European Championships simultaneously.

Where did it all go wrong Fernando?

seriously, what has happened to torres since leaving liverpool

He has steadily become richer and richer. Just has a lot of time on his hands thinking what do with the money.Plays the occasional game of footie. Meanwhile millions are struggling to keep warm and pay the bills.

A sad reflection on society.Sad

Chelsea were always set up to play to Drogba's strengths and while Torres was equally good (a season before) at Liverpool his game is completely different and that Liverpool team was set up to play to his abilities. Chelsea didn't adapt after Drogba left and expected Torres to change his game to match the midfield's.
That, and he is a bit of a sulky get who is likely to throw a strop and a non-performance if his feelings have been hurt.

That said, if we didn't have Sturridge I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

He had ringside seats for them finals too, fair play to him, must have been buzzing to be so close to the action.
